This car and the whole thread is hilarious. My first car was a Mk.1 Fiesta or Rustesta as it was, so chronic was its brown acne.
This car would not get anywhere near a 'ticket' here in Germany, the testers would pooh their pants when they saw this. Every bit of tuning gear - all lowering components etc - has got to have a TÜV certificate with it you can't just play artist like this here. And that deer head - is that a bit of road kill mounted up or what?
Gotta admire the spirit.

I like your Marina estate. I don't think this model made it over to Germany. Is it ex-MOD with that colour? A 70s secret weapon!

Nice BX you have.
If you remove that spoiler, won't the car take-off at high speeds?
You could try some rear window louvres instead perhaps? Are you a member of the British BX Club by the way? BXclub.co.uk . They all drink cups of LHM for breakfast and pints of it in the pub at night.

I just had a review of the previous months' antics. Is that Lotus going to come back or is it only a parts mule? This is probably my favourite - the Escort estate with the 80s top-box. I thought I was the only 80s top-box fan ( is someone now going to point me to an internet forum dedicated to 80s top-boxes?) The BX in that picture - unless it's 'parallax' from the camera - appears to require some new rear swing-arm bearings judging by the slight lean on the rear wheels. Just a thought. Very enjoyable to see all the activity going on.

Yes, good work there. I really like it stock and simple : very nostalgic. I had similar chequered cloth in my '81 Chevanne

good work going on there.. Have you smoked these yet then? They must have been bought when gaspers were about a quid a pack and the bloke must have been grabbling around wondering where his smokes had gone!

Great wagon.
Re the earlier confusion whether this is a 'combi' or not, in Germany this would be called a 'Kombi' - which is basically the equivalent of an estate car in Uk. I always thought the versions without rear windows were called 'Panel vans' a la Aussie style, though Uk, people say... 'van'. Phew, got that cleared up sort of..

That hunk of rust cunningly shaped like a Maserati is starting to look like a Maserati again. Good work! I went back through your thread and saw that you collected the front end from Stuttgart ( you mad sod!) - just round the corner from me here. You could get a nice finish on that thing with a bit of the Lime mortar you mention. I too use such stuff.
Keep up the good work.

It's mad that the green one ended up in the bone yard. I've taken parts off cars in better condition than mine that were one step from the crusher. Good team strip effort! Now that shell's all naked you can see the VW Golf inspiration in the design.

A real classic! Is it some sort of tiller bar rather that a steering wheel? There was some big demo ( disabled rights?) with a load of these in the late 70s/early 80s on one of the London bridges and they were all tipping over in the wind!

Yeah, I love this too. I didn't know there were Chevettes in NZ - I thought you had that Holden Gemini as in Oz that resembles it a bit?
My first car was a Chevanne so I've got a soft spot for these.

This is certainly an original and rapidly developing project. When you have finished it, surely it will be a headache to put it through the TÜV? Will you present the papers of all of the three or four cars that have gone into the hybrid? ;D

I like this but forgive my ignorance of things Ford, but what was the difference between this and the Escort of the era?

Hey you hippy! I've got a slightly older version of one of these vans, also underpowered - all my time is taken up just keeping it on the road and standard. No time for 'tuning' unfortunately! I encourage you to persevere with it.
