Caldina is basically a Celica underneath anyway. Cool car, I like those frogeye Corollas! Wrc livery is a bonus Saw a real one a few weeks ago at the Toyota museum in Cologne.

They already announced next year's date : 2 July 2023. Deffo worth it. I've heard that over 750 cars turned up. The field was full so they'll have to moderate the entrance a bit more next year.

But how tall are you? I'm 1m85 and I had room to spare in mine, I was amazed at how spacious it is for such a tiny tiny car. I really like a cappuccino, and I have unfinished business with them after my previous one.

Als a big dankjewel from the Netherlands. It was good to be back. Great event, the upgraded showers in the campsite where top notch, show was great, track action was fantastic to see. Nice demo cars. And a special remark for the catering on site! Be it a bit expensive but it was great foo and loads of choice!

Ooh, a TIG session sounds great! I'd like to get some help with that as I should be getting a TIG machine soonish.

Yes! This is where I learned several things, by watching another video of his. That guy has a huuuge following. Cool stuff. Everything I know about hovercrafts came from that one video where he was talking to the guy with the racing hovercrafts!

Hooligan Supreme. I expect you to go down to Walmart for milk and O’Reilly’s for a quart of oil. Yes, in that thing. Or a 75" TV, like Cleetus Mcfarland did last year. Was a scat with more power too!

that's a good logic. A friend kept his rear axle, which could only handle about 200hp but sometimes less, alive with 280ish hp with the same logic. Hilarious/scary at the same time, but the best way to keep the car driving instead of in the garage with broken parts.

I'm not really into Hondas, but being into old Japanese stuff for a while learned me a couple of things. Firstly, if you really want one, get one which is in the best condition body wise as you can afford/get. Second, get one which is in the best condition body wise as you can afford/get.
I saw a question for a repro MK1 Escort bonnet on this forum this week, that's something that amused me a little bit. There is no (new) stuff available for most of the classic Japanese cars at all. I have a 1974 Corolla, which once was quite a common car, but i just cannot find panels for it. I got lucky 2 years ago where an old Toyota dealer had some old stock in a dark corner. I found and bought 2 new bumpers for my car there, but there's just nothing like that around anymore.
Also, because of this, i try to buy spare panels from parts cars (or complete parts cars) for my car whenever i find some. I might not need them right there and then, but when i do, i can just take them from my own stock.
Technical stuff isn't too hard to find/make/adapt to work, but panels/bumpers and trim stuff is just a nightmare. I know welding is an option, but a crusty bonnet is just a lot of work i wouldn't/couldn't want to tackle.

A fail on a clutch 'on the way out'? That's a strange point to fail a car on :/

It's a weird thing. I can't check the reg number on the possible V8 Granada. The RDW (our DVLA) doesn't recognize it, which can mean 2 things, it's a fake plate, or it's been overhere a loooooooong time, but it fell off the register when they digitized it (sleeping reg as it's called overhere).
The other cars with yellow plates being pre-'GAIK' (without the blue bit on it), which came in 2002, points to the 2nd option i think.
//edit: most cars aren't on the register, and the only one that is, had it's APK run out in 1998

As far as i gathered it, normally on these events you can go whenever you want, so you can build boost for ages if needed, as only the time down the track counts. Now they need to light up the 2 bulbs and then go within 1 second after green. Makes it a bit faster and more interesting to watch. Sometimes when watching Rocky Mountain Race Week live streams, it can take a long time for a car to make a run.

I don't watch a lot of quartermile racing, so i don't understand all what is going on, but snce i started following some American youtube channels, i started to get a little more interest in it.
Watching the live stream from Gainesville right now, some seriously cool cars running!

I sent it in this year to the same garage having done no other work to it on E10 and it sailed through. I don't use it enough to worry about the loss of MPG tbh, just glad it runs on it ok. That's one of the tricks I used when E85 was available on pumps in the Netherlands. When my car failed on emissions, I would fill the tank with a mix of E85 and normal unleaded. Sailed through the emissions test afterwards.

I'm still amazed at how ancient your system is. I bought a car on Sunday evening. Paid for by 21.15, put it on my name through the Dutch dvla online system at 21.30. Seller had an email at 21.35 stating it was taken off his register and put on mine. Insured it via my bank app and drove it home at 21.45. Tuesday the tax forms and the paperwork came with the post.
