These are good motors, about time they started getting some attention instead of just beat to death and scrapped. I reckon a nice pair of exhaust side stacks, chrome truck style wheels/trims and that would be it, proper mini truck Funny enough one of these has just been dumped near where I work, would love to get my hands on it.

I have had my Dremel for 13 years, used for cleaning welds, cutting bolts all manner of other jobs and its one tool I would never be without. Where I live noise is a big issue so I cant really get the big grinder out without upsetting neighbors so the Dremel is the choice weapon.

This is in one of the best colours too in my opinion. Engine wise they prove to be bullet proof and will take a lot of hammer. From the experience I have with ecotecs they tend be a massive pain in the backside always having senor issues and being a bit unreliable but maybe that's just the heaps I bought

Love these cars. Vauxhall got the roof/body proportions spot on with these.
I had a solid roof GT 2 door years ago in red with GTE rims on, it was a rare car even back then and I really should have kept it.

Way back when I was 10 (1984) in a white Rover SD1 V8 with my step dad driving. I remember well the sound of that engine on full chat, one that still gives me goose bumps even now. This was the very moment I got the SD1 bug and still own them even today. Fastest SD1 I have ever owned is the one as my avatar 156 mph, I didn't tune it or build it, didn't even know what parts were in the engine 100% but it was stupid fast with so much torque if you got too lairy it would spin you in a heart beat.

Blimey that is a cracking motor. I love that interior, those seats look amazingly comfortable. You really do get all the best toys Good spot on the old fuel hose, even new hose these days is terrible quality. I always used to use braided hose until I realised it was impossible to see the condition of the hose itself.

I had a 1997 2.3 petrol Galaxy Grizz. It was a brill motor, I paid a hundred quid for it, stuck a new exhaust on for the MOT and worked it hard every day for 2 years before it decided to blow its oil all over the nice MOT man during the test.
It was a very capable bit of kit, pulled like a train and could fit loads in the back. I once had it loaded so much with chopped up tree trunk that had come down in bad weather (I was paid to chop up/get rid of said tree) the rear arch to rim gap was non existent but it still kept going. The old bus had captain seats in front, fold-able/removable seats in back and electric everything. I do miss that old motor and would have another in a heart beat.

Right time to clear out a few bits to gain some cash to fund my SD1 repairs namely get a new head/cam carrier assembly or change to V8. A heavy duty Milwaukee polisher. This has barely been used, comes with a 150mm sanding/velcro head. Dusty because its been in my shed for around a year. These still sell for over £200 new. £70 ovno prefer collection from LE9 but can post at you cost but may not be cheap due to size Escort Mk5 fuel cap Comes with 2 keys a few very minor marks but has never been on a car. £10 ovno Air Gun Few chips in red coating. £10 ovno Spray Gun leaning kit, Sealey if memory serves. Unused £10 ovno

The Mahindra jeeps were built like brick out houses. I owned one and really abused it and the only issue was the head gasket popped and regardless of how much the head was skimmed it would never run right again. I also owned an Asia Rocsta, very good little jeep but parts are a real pain to find. I do miss the little Rocsta though great motor.
Good luck with the build.

I got some stick over on another forum for wanting to upgrade my Rover SD1 2300s from just a standard clock to a Vanden Plas trip computer. The old" You cant do that its a rare car, not many left". When I also mentioned that I may also add a Vitesse spec boot spoiler and front skirt with side rubbing strips blimey it caused some people to almost keel over. Crazy when all of the parts I want to fit are all Rover SD1 parts, just from a different spec car. I do like to see standard cars but each to our own and long may it live. My attitude is if don't like what I have done or want to do to "My car" that's fine but then its time to walk away because you definitely wont like my response if you slate it. New cars are becoming lifeless piles of c**p as they come from the factory now with nothing to make them stand out other than more plastic and even more computers. Make the most of a car is my view
I think you should drive it down to Grizz Towers and leave it here. While I call you a mini cab to get you to the station after we had a decent BBQ. That certainly sounds like a winning price for a car with fun potential. How bad is it for £100.00 Hope you get to play with it and show us. In fact......... We are waiting for a few photos from you spudgun
It is a good runner but needs some basic parts like a gearbox mount probably a set of pads and discs along with a service but other than that its very solid and in good shape. MOT has not long expired but I don't think it would take much but at that price I cannot lose. I reckon a few more conversations and a visit to get pics are in order over the next week but I will update as it happens. Its strange I have only just started this job but no matter where I work I always end up with more cars

Oh Grizz A guy at work just said I can have a low mileage 03 plate for a hundred quid the original plan was to MOT it then sell it for a quick profit but......now you have really got me thinking cos at that price it really doesn't matter what I do to it. I do like the simple mods like slightly lower and nice rims.

Prozac is an amazing bit of kit Grizz. I once used a Rover SD1 v8 to pull a conifer out.......it didn't work it just ripped the tow eye out of the Rover The garden is looking great and that water feature is brilliant.
