Looks spot on Peter. I have sent you an email mate.
Where did you get the sunroof wind deflector from? I have been looking for one for ages but they all seem to sit too high but yours looks a good fit.

From the pics I couldn't tell it was brush painted. I think decent brushes are a must, cheap ones tend to fall apart and leave bristles everywhere. How many coats will you be adding? Will you flat it back or in fact will it need to be?
Sorry for all the questions but I am seriously considering painting one of my cars this way.

To be honest I'm not completely sure if I will change the engine but I can only imagine how a Chevy would sound....phwoar I am seriously considering doing some work on the 6 pot to make it quicker such as port the head etc, whack some bike carbs on it to see what difference it makes. All would be reversible of course

That would be this one A bit of a beast for the much maligned 6 cylinder. I would love to fit a Jag v8 to my SD1 but its a lot of pain to do from what I have read. And just for reference my 6 cylinder

I have this sat in a cupboard waiting for the day it goes in my SD1. Judging by very little info on the web except for Japanese( I think) and the fact it has an FM convertor attached to it appears to be an import. It will be taking the place of this to give a little more power etc. (Excuse the dust/webs it had been laid up for 20 years)

I think its a good thing. Just because a tyre may look ok on the outside it may well have degraded to the point of being dangerous without actually being visible. Perfect example my SD1 has 10 year old Goodyears on with virtually unused tread but I absolutely will not use them for the road only for keeping the car roll-able during the work I am doing and eventually once roadworthy it will get a new set of boots all round. The rubber had definitely hardened to a degree and has a few very small cracks which are just not worth the risk.
It may cause a lot of cost to some people unfortunately but in this case I agree with it.

Looks a solid old motor. The mk2 cavvys are the absolute dogs danglers in my opinion. Last one I had was a GT 2 door saloon in bright red.
Whats the plans? Any more piccys ?

Back lights will fit both series of SD1 and the Lous Esprit( Not sure of years/model) but the indicator is a series 1.

The dreaded filler pipe, I did one on my old Sterling Coupe and it was a massive pain in the harris. So tight especially if you have big hands and then there are loads of fiddly pipes to mess with.

Brilliant another SD1 and a SD Turbo Diesel at that. All the typical rust spots but you seem to be making short work of it. Its the same colour of my 2300s which is currently getting its head rebuilt in my shed. The arch repair panels are pretty just myth these days only appearing rarely. An old mate of mine said he used to repair the rear arches using the arch from the opposite sides front wing but it did need work to do it. Bookmarked because I too have the SD1 sickness

Totally agree Grizz but I think sometimes concerns need to be conveyed in a much better way as a lot of people would be seriously put off. Top project mate, love the TT anyway but as an off roader absolutely brill Bookmarked for the madness.

I think its a decent watch. Much funnier than the last set of presenters. The electric car episode with the shock machine had me gasping for breath it was that funny. A great team of presenters in my opinion.

Its gonna be on the road soon, you really don't hang about. I did the wood work from my SD1 Vanden Plas and had the same issues you have had. Believe it or not I chipped the old laquer off with a sharp blade then sanded it. I hit mine with some clear coat I had hanging around in the shed from an old BMW repair I did years ago. It looked amazing right up until it dried, after 8 coats it still wasn't the super shiney coat but I called it a day before I used them to start my barbecue Looking forward to more updates.

That looks fantastic Jim. I reckon you should have bought yourself a multi storey car park not a house mate.
