cool car.
my dad had many saabs back in the 80's......including a black 99 turbo combi-----and still to this day(going from memory) it was a quick car.
the turbo came in with quite a slap and really put you back in the seat............amazing for a young excitable lad like myself.
interesting REG on this aswell.....especially when youre a vauxhall fan with a couple of gsi's

very good----------looks a decent one.
is that roja red i think its called???theres a couple about up here(northern ireland) the same colour
I'm a mk3 cav fan myself-------had a few of them of the years.
still have 2 needing abitta work....a gsi and a cav turbo 4x4
they were great cars of that era.

Looks a good tidy cav that.
I love them .........and have a few of them myself.
Probably one of the best vauxhalls ever made..............in an all rounder kind of category.
I'm rebuilding my turbo 4x4 at the minute.
Good cars

Looks the part that indeed. Always like big cortinas ,as i had 3 or 4 in my early teens for raking up the lanes and round fields. Theres one lying in an auld storage shed local to me tgat i know i could buy at a reasonable price, but ive just Too many cars at the Minute. Not anywhere as clean as your own mind you,but well worth saving. What are these like to get parts for nowadays?

just read this from start to finish.............and what a read its been.
particularly seeing austin mchales name at the start of the thread.
i watched the rallying all my life and he was always one of the top runners back in the day.
better known for the manta 400's ...m3 bmw's...sierra cosworths though
i don't rememeber seeing this before...but i think i read that it only done 2 events(thats probabaly why)
i'm really looking forward to seeing this progress.as i'm sure anyone form this side of the water and beyond would be.
great save..............of a great project....good man
