my word, nearly a year with no updates. shame on me !! theres sadly not been much to update on, caddys have been bought and sold in the process and Ive now found a top welder/mechanic to help with the resto.............. only problem is Ive bought this !!! the eagle eyed will see this one too needs sills, don't they all !! but.............. its a) mostly built b) has an eberspacher c) was last on the road 22yrs ago and d) is tax exempt so my efforts will be ploughed into the '72 before I restore the '74 ive got a lot of parts to go through in old boxes but these two pics I like so i'll share original german plates I believe retro tax disc!! anyone translate?? more soon hopefully (well sooner than last time) ps I'll be applying for a birth cert and getting an age related plate via DVLA asap as well

whilst on the road if I see a cool car I either try and grab a pic or even better stop and talk to the owner this was seen on the motorway yesterday, an unknown to me? sure someone will know what it is, driven by an old chap in goggles and this, well I was sat parked up and heard this ROAR, then this fine beast came around the corner, well I had to follow him and speak to him. from the 5 mins I was slavering over it I gleaned it was a capri he'd owned since 18, running a rover V8 and two bottles of NOS inthe back, plexi windows and fibreglass bonnet it was just awesome and genuinely roared, and to boot he was a thoroughly nice chap so what do you see thats cool on your travels

you need a price & location in title or it'll get removed
and no offence but if you cant be bothered to upload a few pics not sure if anyone else will be bothered to ask?
it'd certainly help sell it I'm sure..............

rear light pods, in great condition just need paint of your choice - £20 flag mirror, the fatter type - £4 scuttle cover - £8 pair of elephant mirrors - one has mist/dirt under the glass but still useable, good condition mirrors - £12 the pair and finally the Allycats (bit of a story) had a different kind of nightmare with these  these I beleive are genuine Allycats not the repro Alleycats of later years. noted by the missing E size markings are 5 1/2j x 13, fair tread on 3 one has wear to one outer edge These were bought with an assurance they were 4x100. I tried them on the caddy one day after a night shift all giddy but knackered. tried for seconds to fit one on and couldn't, gutted what followed was questions over forums and as usual loads of different answers (most conflicting!!) so put them in the garage and left them. caddy sale followed, and the day it was going as I was returning it to the steels tried one on again just for $hits n giggles, fitted straight away :0 I can only imagine I'd just not seated the first try correctly but tbf I was knackered when I tried so..... had all four bolts in and fitted as you would normally so i'm gonna stick my neck out and say they FIT I'd agreed a sale price with the caddy owner of £150 so thats what I want for them, i ran the polishing disc over one for a few seconds and they started to come up a treat ace wheels, bit of a waffle "for sale" thread there but just trying to be honest with the saga. come try em if you're unsure

caddy now gone so these are surplus first up, my slider. effectively brand new. fitted once to find my original seal was too wide and leaked slightly. didnt fancy paying £60 so asked Al and he recommended a correct windscreen sealant. This is unused and included in the price £120 inc sealant Original Golf ball gearknob, the threads are good and it seats on the collar nicely, in overall good condition £30 Grey Porsche steering wheel, in good condition. slight wear to the leather but it comes with genuine dye from Porsche colour matched to the leather £35 Mk1 Wolfsburg Steering wheel, in very nice condition £100 Chrome trimmed front grill - centre grill only, in good condition, the lugs fit on the grill fine. £40 4 x 14" Le Castelletes - £150 these were bought with the intention of polishing them, had all kinds of nightmares trying to get down to the alloy, one came powdercoated so in the end had to resort to blasting, this cost alot of money so just trying to claw something back now. excellent wheels and crying out for the paint finish of your choice now, tyres have good tread too, come with plastic vw centre caps more to follow............

ive aquired a petrol mower from my dad, not too sure on the make but its got a briggs & stratton motor ive asked a local fella who says he will service the mower for £35 inc blade sharpening does this sound a fair price for a mower service, ive only ever experienced the plug in types so not a clue on this. also I got a jcb lightweight petrol strimmer, fired into life last use about 4 weeks ago but refusing to fire now? pull cord turns the head, theres petrol in and ive primed it as it says on the strimmer but nope it just wont fire up? any ideas its this one: many thanks

my Trekker will be completed in "roughly" 6 weeks, currently it is sat on cruddy steels I don't want to be in a position where its done and I don't have a wheel choice its been refurbed prior to me owning on 4x130 which i'm led to believe is beetle fitment ? (serious lack of knowledge on aircooled) so whats out there to suit a soon to be slammed trekker in nato green thanks for any help

this is a steal considering the amount of work and effort you've put in, I'm so glad you got this in the end and saved it, I know with my limited (read non existent) skills it'd have been off to the scrapper if I'd got off my bum and collected it, good luck with the sale of an awesome car

well, just spoke to speedshack, it seems they knew exactly what I was talking about woo hoo. it appears i'm missing some slot in adaptors that used to come with the old style allycats, once using these its a case of a standard taper bolt will do they say, fingers crossed
on a side note, how do I acurately determine if these are 4x100 or mini pcd, tape measure looks to be 100 but I accept its only a mil out?
if all else fails, how hardwould it be to make them 4x100 or is this not possible
thanks again all
