Congratulations so far Joe. Fingers crossed on the garage. Not sure how it will be situated on the site, but if you place it in a way that you can add a carport later, like the one I built last year, it could add a good 6x5 meters of dry space. Thanks mate, not 100% where the garage will be yet as it depends on planning & the architect. If it's where I have planned, it will be a 8mx3.5m integral on the side. If not who knows lol.

NEXT QUESTION WE BUY ANY CAR………… WHAT OTHER COMPANIES ARE OUT THERE THAT WILL BUY A CAR, COLLECT IT AND LEAVE YOU WITH CASH IN HAND? Thanks. Based on nothing other than Ford quality, I would go for the swift as it will keep working & parts will last longer than the warranty. I'm not a Ford fan at all, they cheap out on EVERYTHING regardless of how expensive/cheap the car is. The Mustangs battery failed at 3 years/12k miles! My golf one started to fail at 12 years/160k and was actually much bigger! The AA guy that came to jump start me wasnt impressed at the battery size Ford had used (50ah for a 5.0! BMW use a 100ah for the same size engine) Try some local dealers, I sold my Mustang to a local car specialist's & they gave me what WBAC offered with no bartering. They are strugling to get stock so can always offer the same/more that WBAC as they will end up buying it at auction from WBAC anyway.

So, house sold. Golf moved into long term storage today. Mini is provisionaly sold waiting for my mate's tax bill to come in. Yaris is staying. New house purchase hopefully going through, fingers crossed the day we get the keys we can get the architect in to start drawing up some plans as we have some big plans. Rental house lined up. So expect to see no progress on the mk2, most likely be a replacement for the Mini later in the year in the shape of a cheap large estate car for building supplies I would love to say this time next year, the mk2 will be sat in a brand new large garage... but that depends how nice the local council is with planning haha.

Thanks its a 57 plate Audi Quattro 3L Lemans top of the range thingy so too new for here. We will have a look at the other sites mentioned That should make it a A6 with nice wheels, good spec & 3.0tdi in black/grey? Nice looking cars tbh. I'd try Auto tradrer or Ebay classified with make an offer (set auto reject to a realistic amount & turn off auto accept) I've sold most my car's through ebay tbh - good pics & well written advert's seem to weed out the time wasters - also stick it on at £4999 and then you have room to negotiate

At this point, this is totally happening. nickwheeler and I checked it out the other day. It will be fitted. Good stuff, makes the most sense in my eyes. If you can keep the whole loom and dash etc, you should have a Eagle that thinks it's a MX5 as far as diagnostics are concerned!

I would have been tempted to try and stick the mx5 dash in for ease of just moving everything over & not having to buy anything lol

My mate has a 2018 Fiat Spyder (MX5 based) and it is already going rusty underneath. Doesn't appear to have any powdercoating of mention on metal parts underneath. My 2018 Mustang was the same! 12k miles are underneath had surface rust on all the suspension.

See if you have any close by shipping container self storage yards. I've just managed to get one to store my Golf in whilst we move house.

Knew I had a picture somewhere Think it was about £600 in total for everything - I did all the work so no labour, it's pretty straight forward though.

TBH, if you're pulling the house about so much, I'd run ethernet cables to every room and s*d the wifi for work purposes. I did and apart from 'Er Indoors wanting some shonky music/dancy/tv thing (which she won't pay for so....) we haven't looked back. Must admit, I did that. Have 23 netowrk points in a 3 bed semi lol. All wired at cat6 with a 24 x 1gb switch in the loft. Just sold this house & a majority of the people were really happy that it had a wired home network.

Nobody has mentioned that a cat C (now called an S) is for structural damage It wasnt, it used to be for cost of repairs. My friend used to buy and sell salvage car's & loads of the older cat C stuff had daft things like a cracked bumper - which he used to fix with ductape lol. I have seen old cat C car's with cracked bumpers & 6 month old car's with the front end ripped off & engine ripped out with a cat d marker. It's why we now have cat N & S

It depends how old it was in 2009, but the flip side is - it's been on the road for 12 years since it was repaired.

Wiki suggests the B7 Cabrio's came with 2 versions of the 140bhp 2.0TDI's "There were two different versions – one had an 8 valve cylinder head the other had 16 valves. They had the same power and torque output and performed equally. Customers could not choose directly between those two engines. They got the 8-valve version when they ordered the DPF otherwise they got the 16-valve version (BRE engine code). In many countries the DPF became standard equipment for all B7 diesel engines from model year 2006 on and the 8-valve engine was no more." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_A4But all A4's were available with that engine, so it could just be it's the less comon version of the engine. At least it's not got the CVT gearbox as well, took my mate (mechanic) 18m to track down a used one!

Then there's that weird space-time hole that the Independent Soviet Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire's capital Sheffield inhabits. Where-ever you start from it's uphill to where you want to go. BUT, when you retrace your steps it's STILL uphill. One of the few places where you can find yourself going up a hill whilst traveling down a hill. Also if you think it's flat, it's probably a hill.

After having my time wasted a fee times in my younger days. I don't anymore.
Furthest has been York (about 70 miles) and that wasn't as described either but I had gone up in a recovery truck so had it anyway.

Most older cat N are because it's cheaper for the insurance company to write it off than fix it. They pay out below market value, auction the car off & it's only cost them the difference.
If they repaired it, then there are the admin cost's, repair costs, hire vehicle costs.
Back when it was cat C/D - I have seen old cars that are cat C's with a cracked bumper & a under 6 month old cat D's with most of in front of the bulkhead ripped off.

You need to explain more about the school leavers joem83 Good to see you back, seemed you were missing for a bit. We were told about it when we visited in early December (2008!), apparently it turns into a party island (think week long Prom). rottnestleavers.com.au/Have been to Rottness twice now & the Quokkas are amazing little creatures. I've been about, just things are a bit crazy as we sold our house and have been trying to find another lol.

It was 37c at the weekend here in Perth so we went over to Rottnest Island which is the only place in the world you can find the happiest creature on Earth, the Quokka. Love Quokka's, you timed it quite well if memory serves me correctly Rottness will soon be descended on by lot's of school leavers.
