Paracetamol os paracetamol, you are paying for the name with that.
Tyres though, they arent created equal. Have a look at what tyres are fitted from the factory, you wont find any on budget brands - you may find lower models on efficent grip or eco branded stuff, but the performance models always have UHP tyres.
Extreme example, but here's Jonny Smith failing to drive at more than 12mph in a AMG.
Test of regular tyres, very in depth reviews from this chanel & the reason I picked PS4 over PS4S for my Mustang.

Golf Mk4 R32 came with OZ wheels as standard (and later on, Ronal too) Didnt they also have Konig seats?

Like his chanel, love how he tends to swap something unexpected into most his builds. The engine bay on the LS swapped ZX is outstanding thought!

You have to be keeping the car over 10 years for the difference in purchase price to be negated, and let’s be honest pretty much all of these cars will be dead before they reach that age. Just buy the car that’s best suited at the best price, and don’t let the £100 a year influence that decision. Then there are all the gubbins that they fitted to get low emissions that cause nothing but grief & expense when they start to fail. I told my mate to just get a 1.4 petrol Honda Jazz and not worry about anything for the next 10 years lol.

Whilst high MPG and low running costs tend to go hand in hand with the cheaper tax bracket cars, i think it’s worth keeping in perspective that tax is a comparatively small cost when you consider everything you’ll spend on running a car over the year. So, for example, if the car you’d really like is in the £125 tax class, you might find that the £8 per month difference is easily offset by lower maintenance costs or insurance cost. I tried explaining this to a mate, his wife wants a newer car and it "has" to be £30 road tax, I tried to point out that car's in the £125 bracket where usually a minimum of £1k cheaper & more suited size wise than what they can find (they have 2 grand children). It fell on deaf ears.

Autotrader lets you filter on tax bracket, always some surprising results.

Fingers crossed!! The GR Yaris is not huge back there either though is it? It's pretty good tbh, enough room for eldest to sit behind me, Mrs can fit in pass side as well. More room than the R56 Mini, only way we can all fit in that is if Mrs drives lol

I'll be honest, if the 86 had more room in the back I would have bought one and not ever thought about the mustang as it was a bit of an afterthought lol. I'm rolling the dice with the rear space. My kids are 7 and 5 and I'm hoping that they will fit ok with boosters. My eldest is also 7 lol, the GR86 maybe a bit more roomy though.

£260 for the full set (cant imagine paying that for 1 tyre!). It hurts lol. A set of tyres & disks/pads for a S550 Mustang GT would set you back £2k! Glad I only had to do the tyres lol.

Very nice! I really fancy a 86 As I noted in your thread it was a 3 way fight between the 86, 5.0 Mustang and the GR Yaris. I’ve committed to this one for 5 years so it had to be something I could get the most out of and I think (and hope😆) it’s the right decision for me. I'll be honest, if the 86 had more room in the back I would have bought one and not ever thought about the mustang as it was a bit of an afterthought lol.

You have my sympathy with glass in the ground, we cleared our garden of a 1930's greenhouse and were still finding glass about 18" down. Nightmare. Wasn't there something about people putting glass on the ground to deter slugs in green houses? I don't know, it was under the concrete lol

Budget tyres are dangerous IME and should be banned. I've heard people say that you can have them as long as you drive to the conditions, but that's very difficult if the traffic ahead suddenly comes to a stop on a wet motorway. Years ago, I had a a e36 that needed a ful set of tyres & someone local was selling 2 pairs of nearly new partworns (basically new) in the size I needed. Linlongs & Wanli, had them fitted & within 24hrs knew why he had taken them off. Went into my local B&Q in the rain, doing 10mph turned in the car park & went striaght on than then oversteered! I think Ling long means Die soon in chineese. That said, I have had Matador winter tyres for the last 7 years on a Golf & now some on Mrs people carrier & they are actually fantastic. But they are only used for 5 months of the year.

This is basically what I had on the Mustang when I bought it, although the front tyres were 2 year old P-zero's that were already age cracking!
I changed the full set, the rears probably only had 500 miles on them
