Staying. It doesn’t bother me, it’s useful, and short of removing it there isn’t really anything you could do to improve it. Shorter arm or blade will just look more odd, like it’s got the wrong parts fitted. I don’t really see it. I certainly don’t subscribe to this ‘kill all wipers’ stuff on older cars. It starts to look a bit devoid of features and also poverty spec. 😆 Can you lay it flat like I've done to every mk2 Golf I've ever had? Not without making a new park wheel for the motor. The Mk2 golf is pretty unique in having a wiper linkage with bell crank, most cars rear wiper sweep is set with the park wheel.

Any suggestions to speed up entry? Because I can’t sadly think of one. The venue is where is is and access is just that. We can’t really alter that. Sorry to hear it put you off coming though.

Are there any food vendors? Not on site, no, the bar is usually open on Saturday evening though.

Lovely car, but I hate to break it to you, 'Transmission Service Required' is a fault indicator. Can't be serious if the car drives well though. Possibly related to the MIL being on maybe? GLWS.

Often cars will have for sale signs in. Best to keep a keen eye and see what’s about.

One sensor is for the ECM, likely the ‘top’ one and the lower one will be for the over temp light. The fan will be ECM controlled. Easiest way to test is bridge pin 30 and 87 in the fan relay and the fan should run. If it doesn’t, pin 30 should have 12V at it, if that isn’t present, check fuses and wiring. If it is, dead fans (not uncommon on PSA cars). It’s highly unlikely the fault is in the relay driver circuit, but usually when the engine reaches temperature the ECM will ground the relay, rather that supply, to switch it on.

As far as I know it’s going ahead but can HoTWire confirm we have ‘safety clearance’?

I've split your plea into it's own question thread. Good luck with the conversion.

Looking good, although I've just noticed the bus sized rear wiper, any plans to dewiper it or reduce the size for a clean look or do you like it for geek points? Staying. It doesn’t bother me, it’s useful, and short of removing it there isn’t really anything you could do to improve it. Shorter arm or blade will just look more odd, like it’s got the wrong parts fitted. So in true RRG getting ready spirit, I climbed into the new long distance family load hauler and set off on a mission. To be greeted upon arrival at my destination by this little pile of goodies. Kia pride front and rear bumpers, better tail lights and a tacho cluster (which I've since found is a totally different pin-out ) We returned 9 hours later which really put the rest of the day to waste but the following evening I set about this. After a trail fit, we had paint! Seeing as the rear bumper was now bigger, carrying more 'weight' for the rear of the car, I had to rework the exhaust. I was never overly keen on the sound it made with the backbox I fitted the first time round, plus it was rushed and looked like Stevie Wonder had stuck it on from 6ft away with an Aldi arc welder. Replaced with a better sized stainless silencer off a BMW from ThePollitt and the tail pipe was originally on speedy88 's recovery truck, which I much prefer as it gives it peco vibes and sound rather than it sounding like Civic-with-no-backbox. And fianlly, got the stripe cut and fitted for the bumper detail this evening. Nearly ready!

Is it the screen indicating the fault or just a lamp? If it's a lamp just lift the foil on the instruments with it dismantled and slide a square of insulation tape onto the back of the instrument foil blanking the lamp. I can't specifically find an implied fail for brake wear indicator in the manual but it could come under 'brake wear indicator' if that RFR is taken literally.

Yea, I know about it, found that site, just wouldn’t mind knowing what the specific facia is for.

That looks really familiar Rich, cant quite place it. Know it is not a 356 fitment as they went in from the back with the stamping in/on the dashboard - also happened to have a family friend over yesterday that was driving a 356 C... P. It’ll fit a 356, it’s a rear mounted unit same as used in the 356, just without the facia.

Being a German unit is it reasonable to guess it might come from a German car? Borgward? Wartburg? Volkswagen? Porsche 356? Few there to check but it doesn’t match any VW or Porsche dashboards I can find. Bearing in mind the facia would have matched or emulated a finish on the cars dashboard.
