just make one large panel with lift off hinges (quite clearly the wont work as a hinge, but hopefully you understand what i mean) on each end so it can be taken off easily when you want too. could drill and bolt or even padlock the tops of the hinge pins, so they couldnt be lifted off by anyone other than you...... yeah i get you , thats about the best i can come up with cheers

wont be above my head...would be like a 3-4 foot tall jobbie , deeds say we must have a fence boundry otherwise id have a uber driveway, and yeah would make it wide enough to drive through
isnt really ideal to have them on hinges due to where it is , i guess lift off hinges would work

looking for some ideas folks
i plan to rip out a hedge in the better weather and fit maybe a picket or featherboard fence , then make one section removable so i can sneak a car into the back garden now n then
any smart ideas how i could do it neatly so it doesnt show when fitted?

no doubt the seller is a douch bag , but 20 years old and the state of that arch didnt give you a hint to look a bit closer , looks like most of that arch is made badly from filler
other thoughts...what kind of money must these back street traders be buying the cars in for to turn a profit? id go private for cheapie cars

that bonnet will be rippled to hell with the fire , angle grinder or chisel a hole in it and get it open as it will need replacing anyhow
otherwise a stuff bit of wire and poke around in the grille area with a torch

amount of people ive seen just hitting the cars infront and behind when trying to park is unbelievble , its like its the norm and they don't give a monkeys
as much as i hate to say it you just have anything nice , park it elsewhere if you can , maybe a towbar if its the rear that keeps getting hit?

was you planning to use the alarm ? i wouldnt bother stuff back then wasnt very reliable
while its cool to have on the shelf , get something modern if you want a trusty alarm that works as it should and offers a bit of protection

yeah fair comment - i was getting at the ones that have tried one can of whatver and its fine , it would have to be something shocking to kill a car over one or two oil changes
commas a trustworthy brand though , i still stand by buying good stuff cheap parts /stuff always bites me in the ass

so the uni part probably met the spec when brand new but soon afterwards didnt
so hard to know what youre buying though...are you getting top notch stuff or just paying for a label

people saying i used xx brand oil and it was fine doesnt really help , most older tech engines will keep running on the cheapest dregs but doesnt really mean what you put in was a great buy
you can also read up on semi oils , the barest hint of something synth being added allows them to label it semi
for me , i tried some ecp oil in my vw and the engine sounded rank , next change i put castrol in and its back to sounding fine , make of it what you will
at the end of the day anything clean and fresh will keep it going , if youre driving flat out at high revs all day on a track day then it needs to be good stuff , pottering about in a daily isnt so demanding

cant help but think sticking to a known brand of oil wont steer you wrong
almost everything else ecp sells is poor quality at best so no reason to trust thier oil or thier word really
a for the plugs , chances are they're pennys for a cav , might as well change em while they're out , other stuff with expensive plugs you can be a bit more carefull but yours wont cost alot at all

over the years ive trained my mrs to park at the end of car parks and drive around potholes etc , she has driven some of the fleet but its just less hassle to have her drive her own car

you know the only right answer is strip it and clean it , you will always be blaming the dust or wondering about it of not
i use cling film to stretch around the bare bits to try and keep the dirt out
