Do car papers in UK have max permissable tow weight? Here in D the whole trailer business is a highly developed bureaucracy : If you get pulled while towing a car, you have to have your towing vehicle papers ( stating towing allowance), trailer papers ( seperate registered vehicle requiring its own TÜV/MoT) and papers for the vehicle on the trailer. Therefore Plod can make a quick sum of the parts. Surely UK towing is straightforward if all the lights work? Almost impossible for them to do the sums unless you're using a Fiat 500 as the prime mover. I would be more aware of the actual performance of the rig rather than the legality as it's no fun towing cars with an underpowered/underweight vehicle. You can usually find the towing weights on the vin plate on the car, I wouldn’t say it’s common knowledge with Joe Public though.

Owning minis, I didn’t have a problem getting parts for a very long time. It wasn’t until I bought my 480 that I realised how lucky I had been, a simple thing like boot seals, NLA from Volvo and a common failure point letting water into the rear lights. I substituted a mini one in the end as they were the same profile, if a little short!

Mate of mine just had a similar thing. Sold an item as cash on collection, he sent the winner his phone number and address and has had his account suspended.
He phoned them to sort it and also asked how he should arrange a viewing of a car before buying it, their response, buy it first. Doesn’t really make sense!

In a lot of cars now you cant get out if the car is locked. Press the unlock button. Nothing. And no mechanical way of unlocking the door. How is this safe? I like to know I can get out in a crash They usually auto unlock in an accident.

Has anyone ever thought that google maps/ street view has a lot to answer for in vehicle thefts or thefts in general? I mean, I just spent literally 5 minutes scouting a random area that I don't know and saw: a Mk1 Fiesta Some kind of age old mini A Mk1 corsa gsi in someones garage! A Brooklands 280 A Mk2 golf GTi Two blokes waving at the camera car. I don't think google obscuring number plates is enough. It is an awful invasion of privacy and security. I know the pictures may be somewhat out of date but the chances are... I actually think that google street view does more harm than good in these respects. You should follow it up by going there and seeing if you can find them!

Then the most I've ever done in the shortest time? Drive to Barcelona and back over 10 days, 2000 miles pretty much entirely on cruise control! Lol

Ahead of it's time when you consider all the plastic city cars about now? I don't remember them being all that common in the 90s!

Not massive compared to some of the ones I've read on here before but my Saab 9-3 below had 200K when I bought it years ago. Everyone told me I was stupid when I bought it but I did 10K in it in a few months with no issues. Unfortunately it looks like it died a fair few years later at only 218K. I haven't had anything as well run in since!

I don't think I've ever seen one of these badged as an LDV, those pics have confirmed it!

I know someone who did it to a mini, it reacted in places where the car wasn't properly prepped (went pink) and it wasn't particularly easy to keep clean.
I'd rather just paint it.

As I said to one of my mates when we discussed something similar, my bonnet always goes up, it's just to check the fluids before I leave!

I thought RSPs had "Racing Crayons" like Carb Coopers, but I didn't want to post that without checking!
Half leather is a desirable upgrade though. The rear seat moreso for those who fit a pair of buckets.
