I've not heard anything from Fred Housego yet! What a THYMEWAISTER. Somebody give me something reasonable for this, I'm too 'sentimental' to see it crushed, yet I'm getting a bit curse word off with the amount of people ballsing me about with your dreams and fantasies about buying/collecting/welding and would love to make money on the bits and crush the shell to death. Somebody once told me that cheap cars attract cheap people, guess they were right. Cube it and sell those bits, you'll survive!

Yep, I've seen this bad boy on the morning commute too, pulling off the M5 for Tewkesbury. Looks tidy.

I don't usually comment on for sale ads because I'm not a serious buyer, but that looks a bargain at £5k. Definitely high on the wish list and if ebay prices are to go by, this one is very keenly priced for a road ready example. Good luck with the sale but at this money you shouldn't need it.

Set of four 6.5Jx16 H2 steel rims, 14 hole design.
Five stud, think PCD is 5x100 but need to confirm, says ET50.
Good condition but need a really good clean.
Came off a Seat Leon (circa 2008)although I believe they will fit Golfs, Skodas, Audis etc?
Collection from Gloucester or can get them to Wixford, near Bidford-on-Avon during working hours.
Seems they go for stronger money on the 'bay but £45 and prompt collection makes them yours.
WANT THESE GONE SO £20 TO ANYONE BEFORE I STICK THEM ON THE BAY AT THE WEEKEND!

Set of four 6x14 inch Granada Mk2 alloy wheels (one pictured). One is stamped Ronal, three centres present. Need refurbishment. Destined for the bridge of doom - most probably later this week - but thought I'd see if there was any interest here first. £30 for the lot. Collection from Gloucester or can get them to Wixford, near to Stratford upon Avon, if anyone wants to collect during working hours.

September 1986.
Aged 11, the last year in 'middle school' and lusting after a Raleigh Burner or one of those new-fangled mountain bikes. XR3i set was the Scalextric of choice and Street Machine was already regular reading material.
Dad's wheels were a 1983 Metro City (never that bothered about cars!), which I'd pass my test in six years later.

4x base model E46 BMW 3-Series wheels and legal tyres. Far from mint - kerbing, bubbling etc - but quite tidy overall. Tyres are in a 195/65/15 flavour. Three are your finest Mohawks with I'd say have at least 3mm tread. The other is a badass Furio that looks hardly used. Collection from Gloucester or can get them to Wixford, which is near Stratford-upon-Avon. Price is a dirt cheap £40.

If the loom is original, then I'd go with what ChasR says. You can pick the adaptors up for about £4 each or so off of ebay.
The loom is original in my Metro so to fit an elderly Alpine pullout stereo I got an aftermarket loom connector to ISO blocks from ebay (Halfords were even clearing them out at about £3 apiece), cut off the ISO blocks and spliced together the same colours etc up to the wires from the head unit.

Anybody able to collect a job lot of car radios in Sidcup? Would be in the next five days. Just need someone to hold onto them until I work out how to get them to Gloucester...

As said, if it's not a dodgy reshell on an early V5 and isn't hanging, then worth it's £1k and a good bit more. Auto might put a few off but it'll be an easy trade if it's essentially solid.

Firstly, if you want to get rich, then motoring journalism is not for you. Rates are nothing like what they used to be and budgets on magazines are tighter than ever, sales having taken a real knock over the last few years. I can see your point about free work as a way in, but I wouldn’t advise it. It’s very much frowned on by those in the industry and devalues the product that someone is selling for their livelihood. Basically, how would you feel about it if someone walked into your workplace, pointed at your job and said they’d do it for free? It also makes you look a bit desperate to be honest and if you start off charging low, then chances are that you’ll stay low. Best bet, as mentioned here, is to get yourself going with a blog. It’ll allow you to hone your writing skills and prove your enthusiasm. If you want to write for a particular mag, approach them and ask them what features etc they are in need of. If you have a particular automotive specialism or knowledge then use it to your advantage in what you suggest for articles. Whatever you do though, make sure it’s of the absolute best quality you can do. Good luck.
