This is a LHD proper Fiat 500 I`ve just imported from Italy.It`s in the process of being UK registered, with all the correct paperwork just sent off to the DVLA. I expect to have the tax and registration back within a couple of weeks. Now fully UK registered, with over 300 miles under its belt on UK roads.
So, it`s in superb condition with no rust at all. It starts first time, and runs very well indeed. It`s recently gone through it`s first UK MOT, and needed bits and bobs doing to pass. It had both driveshaft couplings replaced, handbrake levers and cable, brakes refurbished and cleaned and other bits and bobs. All parts were easy to obtain in the UK.
It about as original as you`ll get, apart from being painted at some point back in Italy, but in the original Ivory White colour; not uncommon due to sun damage in hot countries. The interior is all original, and in great order, with no undue wear and tear. It`s got the original 499cc engine, with 4 speed non synchromesh gearbox, which is a breeze to use once you`re used to double clutching. Tyres are all matching Pirelli item from Italy, including the spare.
Being uber picky, the support bar for the soft top needs a rivet to secure it to the O/S again, but i`ll get this done anyway.
This car gets LOTS of attention everywhere it goes. It`s actually a nice thing to drive, and I find it pretty relaxing as you`re never in a rush to get anywhere, which is a good job, as 18HP won`t get you anywhere fast! I`ve got it advertised elsewhere for £6495 (piostonheads and carandclassic) so there`s £500 worth of retro discount here.
