You have to be very careful adding any sort of cage to a Mog. The chassis are designed to flex a lot, adding a conventional cage stops that and gives huge problems.
Hope you've had your Weetabix, and have a big socket set, they are hard work to spanner on, due to the size of things and Mercedes OTT engineering.

ProBoards is a bit funny with registrations sometimes. For anyone trying to register, sometimes it just takes a couple of attempts. Thanks

I did it years ago by cutting and grinding the weld on the reverse face, and then beating the centres out.
My wheels weren't MGF but the concept was the same. It was very hard work.
You need to be able to spin them up and adjust the fit before re-welding.

Things evolve, move on and change. If they didn't we'd all still be using newsgroups, AOL and Yahoo eGroups.
It isn't like I've decided to stop updates, just the forum I post them on has changed. Feel free to amble across and look as a guest. If you'd like to register and post - I'd be flattered.
As for the supercharger updates, there has been no progress alas. I've been painting and wiring, but I'll get back onto it soon.

I've got a few updates since my last post. But the story is moving onto a new forum. Morris in its new homeSome of will have seen some stuff before, but the under hood shots and indicators are new. There are a bunch of painting updates, and a complete rewire that still need to be added. Hope you'll follow along for more updates

Cut some 1" pieces, and get your welder dialed in the best you can. That will save you hours of finishing.
A powerfile with Cubitron belts is pretty handy to have too.

I'm not sure on pricing, but all of Africa can't be wrong. The original 7/8 seater - and retro too

How will you get to it when the motor fails? I would think it will be awkward with it all assembled. That is why I bought a recon motor, so it isn't today's problem I don't expect to be driving in the rain much, so hopefully it should last a while. But the angle bracket to the left of the motor is for the parcel shelf, I'll be able to remove that if I have to get to the motor.

Finally for now - dimple dies. I want to make a panel in the engine bay, just a simple aluminium cover for the space between the grille and the radiator. I found a design on line I could 3D print, so I thought I'd have an experiment. Just 1mm ali and a quick squeeze in the vice was all it takes. Yep happy with that. I can tweak that basic design for the sizes and shapes I want to use for a minimal cost. The steering column gaiter I was working on, I finally got printed in a flexible material, and got it test fitted to the bulkhead. It was a tight fit, but it is in. Those are the semi interesting updates, there has been lots of smelly/messy filler work going on too, but nothing picture worthy really. Thanks for looking.

The bonnet has been dipped, and there have been extensive repairs to the inner frame. But the outer skin still needed attention. I tend to get better results if I make smaller simpler panels, rather than trying to get it all done in one hit. Here is the first in place. Here is the second. A wipe of filler will get that up to scratch. The other side also needed repairs, but wasn't quite a bad. That is quite a milestone, as that is the last of the rust repairs !!!!

Wipers first. The motor is normally mounted in the engine bay, but I'm trying to get as much hidden away and simplified in the engine bay. So I made up this bracket, that picks up on the bolts for the pedal box in a LHD car. Mounting it there allows the stock cable drive to the wheelboxes to be used. The wipers were always rubbish. Self park had been bodged and never worked, so I splashed out for a recon motor.. The sweep of the wipers was always wrong too. A bit of detective work over the years showed that the drivers side wheelbox had been replaced with the wrong part. So they now should sweep correctly and self park - luxury. I didn't want to spoil myself by upgrading to a 2 speed wiper motor

That steering gatour is superb I’ve heard of someone in the club making them as well but do they have any give in them like the orignal? I’m down your way for a few days next week would you be up for a visit? That particular steering gaitor is hard, with no give, but that is my prototype for sizing. I've got some filament for the printer that has some give in it, but I'm struggling to get it to print properly. Be good to catch up - come on over when you are around.

My 3D printer turned up a week or so ago - A Prusa Mini for those interested in such things. One of the projects I wanted to do, was to reproduce the steering column gaiter. They are NLA and mine looks horrible, and better ones aren't easily available. I've spent quite a bit of time learning Fusion 360 to be able to draw stuff in 3D, I'm still learning, but I'm slowly getting to grips with it. This is what I've managed to print as a test in a hard plastic (PLA) I've not sussed the print settings needed for rubber (TPU), but I'll get there. One I thing have finished is the mount for the washer bottle. I wanted to move it from the main engine bay, to ahead of the radiator panel. For the original fitment, I spent ages making a metal bracket that seems simple, but was flipping awkward to make. I didn't fancy doing that again, so I thought I'd draw/print something. The U-shaped version flexed too much, so I boxed it in. Here it is fitted in place. Excuse the filler under the headlamp - I'm trying to match the profiles side <-> side. A very interesting technology, you may see more on this thread in the future.

Why not buy a set of Ford leads and put your specicific plug cap on? I thought about that, but then I'm limited in where I can put the coil pack, by the length of the existing leads. There has to be a cleaner way.

I'm doing a NoDiz conversion. I've got a Ford Coil pack that looks like this As fitted to 1,000 of Ford Fiesta's and Focus's from the 90's onwards. But I'm not sure what leads I need to get. I'd like to get a kit/components so I can make up exactly the right lengths. I just need a regular right angled plug cap on the other end, something akin to this. Any clues appreciated.
