Long time browser - first post
Was after a 1960's wagon/estate/longroof for a while. Had to be European as my garage won't take anything bigger
Stumbled across this 1967 Morris Oxford Traveller - price was fair, it was MOT'd and was the right size/shape I was after.
Being 1967 it is the same vintage as me.
So about a year ago I pressed the button.
It was 200 miles away so I had it delivered, unseen, bar some small pictures.
I was pretty happy as it ran and drove fine.
But the look - hmmmm.
The wheel trims, horse badges, and anything else I could pull off was down the boot-sale within about 48hours
But getting rid of the vinyl roof was the biggie, that meant the car was in the garage over the winter, and has only just emerged.
The vinyl roof escalated into
• Painting the top 1/3 of the car
• Headliner and sunroof panel
• Obtain and recondition original style front seats
• Rust repairs to boot floor
• Retrim of the cargo area
• Hidden (largely) bluetooth amplifier
• Undoing shocking electrical and fuel system bodges by suicidal previous owner
• New wheels/tyres
Still from 20+ feet away - looking a lot better
Lots of mods still planned
• Fully details engine bay
• 4-link rear suspension and air-bags
• Replace sills both sides
Are the bigger ones on the list
If it passes the MOT next week - I'll be driving around over the summer, if not I'll wheel it back into the garage and crack on.
