is it possible cut the center out and re weld it in so the of set is more dishy an might fit a herald? the MGF shares the same PCD as a herald and there's not a lot of steel wheel action other than some great banding on standard 13" wheels, the MGF spare is 14" with a 185 80 14 and a GT6 diff that puts 60 mile an hour at 2660 rpm which should be OK for the V8 Dan

Interested to see how you get on. Wouldn’t mind a set of those on my Standard Ten.

We put some 14" Maestro wheels(which are basically the same) straight onto a Vitesse some years ago. Fitted with no problems.
I recently modified some Herald centre caps to fit the 14" MGF steels on a freind's Metro.

I've got 15" maestro Alloys on the TR7, they don't seem to be heavily inset like the older fwd wheels.

I did it years ago by cutting and grinding the weld on the reverse face, and then beating the centres out.
My wheels weren't MGF but the concept was the same. It was very hard work.
You need to be able to spin them up and adjust the fit before re-welding.
