I have a gas-fired space heater in the garage (just a small Clarke Machine Mart one), and my Calor Gas Propane cylinder has just run out. It was the smallest version which is 3.9Kg (see below). So off I trot to my local gas supplier to replace it. It turns out that Calor discontinued their smallest cylinders back in early 2023 - which shows how little gas I use each year. Normally I would just chop the small one in for a bigger one, but I was also advised that Calor are no longer accepting the little ones back, so I would have to start a whole new contract with them. This of course means a pretty hefty deposit compared to the price of just the new cylinder, which I am not particularly happy about. Are there any alternatives out there?

Hotwire rocks. I wish I could claim more credit, I just kept on at Proboards and helped them diagnose the problem. Fingers crossed it doesn't re-occur as it has been an absolute nightmare. But you should take it. YOU are the one chasing them to sort it. And for that, we thank you!

The problem I had with my phone when looking at the Notifications page (it wouldn't take you where you needed to go) has been completely fixed. Hotwire rocks.

I think that both look factory. You'll probably find they changed on a mid-model-run refresh.

I'd say that was a binding brake that's caused it. I think if a bearing was that bad you'd have heard or felt it.

Excellent - I love a pick-up and a D21 Nissan with 400k KM certainly fits the bill! I am enjoying this so consider yourself bookmarked. My Father-in-Law had a D22, followed by 2 Navaras and a Ford Ranger.
Although I have no need for a pick-up, I still want one.

I realised that the solution was a) there in front of me, and b) REALLY simple. Well done, Bouncy. Sometimes we can't see the wood for the trees, but we get there in the end. It's often the best thing to walk away and come back to it later with a fresh attitude and a different perspective. Plus the nous to maybe just have a look by moving some wires...

Back on it after a much needed break. I went back to the dashboard issue with the vent pipes not fitting properly as the instruments occupied the same space. I was puzzling over this for a while when I realised that the solution was a) there in front of me, and b) REALLY simple. All I needed to do was to move the vent pipe behind where the heater pipes came through. There was a big enough hole in the bottom of the dash, which I had been unable to see because of the wiring loom. Once done, it was simple to cut the hoses to length and doing a mock up fit with the dash top in place. Pleased with how it turned out. Then I turned my attention to the wheel centres. These have, unfortunately, been a bit of a disaster since I started re-doing them. Firstly, I wasn't happy with with the orange paint highlights I'd done. So I decided that the paint had to come off. However, once I had cleaned off the old paint, I cleaned them with white spirit. When they were re-primed, there must have been some of this left, as the primer then reacted. So it all had to come off again. Then I thought I'd try doing them orange, with black highlights instead (which I thought would be easier - ha!). Unfortunately, the orange paint I have is extremely thick. It doesn't sit right on the wheel centres, which are just over a couple of inches wide; it all needed to be removed again. Luckily, them still being tacky meant that judicious use of white spirit and a whole host of rags saw most of the orange paint off once again. I have since washed them to hopefully remove any trace of spirit. They'll be primed again soon... Vent pipes cut to size and fitted. Temporary fitting of the dash top - looks really nice. Pleased with it! Trying the wheel centres with orange. This did NOT work. So I took off as much as I could and then washed them up!

I have no clue, I spotted it in a retail park just because you can doesn’t mean you should An unusual take on what was surely a very rusty Discovery. Like redratbike says - you really shouldn't... That rear section made from next door's old decking does not look particularly appealing!

I remember seeing what looked like a red Minker go steaming past us on the M25 in about 1990/91. We weren't hanging about at "70, officer" but that car must have been doing 120+. I remember my Dad saying "There's something seriously fast coming up behind us" and then BAM! it was gone. Easily recognisable because of that big rear spoiler though! Was it one? Who knows!

I so love reading your updates Robert. Very very entertaining!
I was once driving to work in the heavy snow in my old 1275GT, and I was about to descend a treacherous looking (but small) hill. Imagine my delight on the radio when I heard that both the ways in to the town I worked in at the time were hopelessly blocked. So I performed a self-inflicted pirouette of my own (good old Mini handbrakes) and drove like Rauno Aaltonen back to my house. Minis + snow = too much fun - at least on the flat...

A couple more: A rusty blue 1980 Austin Mini Pickup with a Raleigh Chopper bike in the back, parked outside a bike shop A bald man looking confused whilst attempting to build an orange 1980s kit car in his driveway. I love these 2. A Formula 1 car in Red Bull colours, being chased by angry Mercedes mechanics after the driver has stolen their new car plans. Mercedes mechanics are bleeping massive! A Winnebago powered by a jet engine and driven by an angry hippy, racing against a rocket powered Pontiac Trans-Am driven by a man with a 1970s moustache (who seems to be missing!) A private investigator with a moustache and a Hawaiian shirt driving a 1980s Ferrari 308 GTS in Maui. Let's see what it thinks Magnum looks like... MAGNIFICENT! An entire rugby team of 15 players trying to fit into a 1990s Range Rover outside Twickenham Stadium. Marvellous - AI can't count, but it's pretty funny!

Thought I might have a go: An electric blue 1975 Chevrolet square-body pickup with a massive engine outside a barn in sunny Kansas A yellow 1971 Mustang Mach 1 after being involved with a crash with a 1968 Dodge Monaco Police Car in Los Angeles An orange 1974 Ford Cortina with vinyl roof, waiting for 3 burglars to come out of a TV shop (this one doesn't really work) A 1970 Ford Transit during a heist at a bank in 1970s London (the Transit well disguised!) A black 1980 Lamborghini Countach being driven fast in Arizona by a crazed Cyborg A 1968 black Rover P5 Coupe being raced outside 10 Downing Street against other Rovers, all being driven by politicians. (This is fantastic, even thought the cars look like weird Italian-styled concepts from the 60s) A blue 1966 AC Cobra 427 in a drag race against a 1971 Ferrari Daytona Spider, at traffic lights in Long Beach California. The Ferrari is... erm... not quite as expected! Rear 3/4 view of a blue 1977 Austin Mini 1000, with a twin exhaust and rust on the doors, parked on grass. Looks nothing like my old Mini, but still fun! And finally (which should be interesting - what will it make of an unusual 80s kit car?: An orange 1981 Midas Coupe with black 5 spoke wheels outside a residential garage in a small English town. Oops that's a bit wrong! Midas apparently = Nissan Cherry!

As far as I am aware they were pretty much a standard fit across the range. I may have a VW Bora one kicking around. I'll have a look
