In November I had brand new rear hubs/bearings fitted to the mondeo.
It's been grafting hard for the last 3 weeks during a house move with various heavy loads and covered roughly 1500 miles.
The other night I was on the motorway doing between 65-70 and there was a squeaking noise, thought nothing of it maybe a stone or something.
Then when I got home I noticed that the plastic wheel nut covers have melted!!!
Surely the bearing hasn't failed, no side to side movement on the wheel.
Any thoughts?
