Another month, another update, like when the supermarket keeps moving the food around the place.
Okay this has a number of changes in it that start to put in to play some other new changes coming down the line.
What I've done: Made the forum a consistent width on a number of larger devices to make it easier to update across multiple displays Removed the side bar on the home page as it was a bit redundant Reworked the entire menu, now has fancy pop out Added a basic board navigation to the menu system Moved Logout to the bottom of the main menu Redone the Menu Icon Added a Full Reply option to the Quick Reply at the bottom of a thread Some small padding and graphical fixes around a couple of the buttons Added the requirements so that bottom stick ad will only appear on Portrait (vertical) format displays, so that it is not letterboxing on landscape displays. Changed some code for the menu show and hide at the top so it feels more "solid" Changed some styling so mobile display doesn't jump around as the page is loading. Moved the Report/Admin type functionality for a post to the top right, rather than be with the Like/Reply/Quote area. Fixed up some stuff with the Like display so it should work on Mobile properly again now (god I hope it does, that took me ages (even though it looks no different)).
What is immediately next: Probably a load of complaints about the menu that will need fixing Getting the Advert stuff updated to take advantage of the new display settings and make more people happy
What is next after this: The Editor buttons display on mobile needs to be better The Menu will need some proper styling Revisit what displays at what screen size now the layout is more consistent General layout and tightening up on a piece by piece basis (Thread title block, content display block, profile block etc. etc.) Profile view is a bit wacky on Mobile PMs display to be improved New button position and enlargement (has a lot of impacts on the thread listing so I need to have a good think on that one) A very cool idea I had that will only work for Desktop/larger screens, but could make life very nice for browsing the forum
Anyway ... feel free to shoot me now.

First Fix: putting the actual links in the Forum navigation in the popout menu Second Fix: styling on Full Reply button.

Been using the October theme since you made it available, seems good to me, liking the new Full Reply tab 👍

Picture upload on ipad is non functional Oooh I didn't test that as I've not changed anything to do with it at all, but it doesn't seem happy. Will see if I can work out the problem. May be out of action for the next hour at least though.

Nothing to complain, I like that the menu on the left hides itself now, though I haven't tested it on mobile gear yet.
What is the tick box next to the moved gear wheel menu for?
Thanks for still developing the forum further.

Image upload working again, made a stupid mistake when adding the Full Reply option (which I did last thing today, so missed testing fully).

Thanks for still developing the forum further. It is for selecting multiple posts, I had it hidden previously because it is an odd bit of functionality to have outside of an admin setting, and even then we don't really use it. I need to style that properly again, but I didn't want to wait another week to put this change live as it has other fixes that people are after in it. I feel we're getting closer to something that is a very solid version of this site, including the mobile layout, which will give me a bit of confidence going out in the wide world of the internet and telling everyone to come here and check out our stuff again.

The layout seems to be broken for Firefox (on iOS), initial login screen the 'buttons' for login don't appear. Same thing using Chrome. Firefox 119.0 (64-bit) chrome Version 118.0.5993.117 (Official Build) (x86_64) macOS Ventura 13.5.2

I liked the sidebar and used it all the time... On desktop I have a replacement for it which may be even more useful. I can also make the old one a profile option, like the large text. Give me a bit though as I have some other things to tackle first. But I think you will like the new sidebar for desktop idea I have brewing

Firefox on Android is the same BUT login and register are hyperlinks (orange colour) clicking either takes you to the appropriate place

Looks great and works well. On a multi-page, fairly lengthy thread- like this one for example:- forum.retro-rides.org/thread/149693/1986-toyota-mr2-brum-noises?page=123If you scroll to the very bottom of the screen, the options to select a different page disappear. Also, when getting to the bottom of the screen and selecting the next page, the next page is shown but doesn't go to the top. Thankyou for the continued hard work on the forum!

Just tried with Safari and that's the same.

I prefer doing multiple quotes in one reply, unless addressing something specific. It does not seem to work, well, maybe it is me…. Ticking multiple boxes, then hitting the reply. Or quote option gives me nothing. Am I missing a step again?
