Crikey thread revival! I have somewhat goven up on bicycles, with my love of motorbikes (a thread I REALLY need to sort out) taling way above precedence. I do still own my old esquire, due to its istory with me I wont part with it. But it has been in the underground carpark at work for some three years! Anyhow, i saw this being given away on FB marketplace, and it turns out the chap was two doors down! as history will dictate, i am rubbish with dropped bars, the seat isnt comfy, the front tyre is more of a hyperbolic paraboloid than any other shape (always wanted an opertunity to use that word) and its gnarly all round. It also has clipons, wich I hate. but hey wy not, be fun to have a hgo! So i am going to tidy it up, and who knows I may even try and take it out for a peddal!

Love all the old memories cars can bring up, it's like when I see a mk3 fiesta a mk1 mondeo:) additionally, for the sizenof the car a remarkable amount of space inside for sure! Dez thanks chap, will get one from CZ then! I'm planning on doing it at the same time as the clutch. Wasnt expecting focus thought it would be a polo nor something but that's handy, in only thinking a 30mm drop st the moment. Cheers re breaker bits offer, so far urgent nits are the light switch and a break front brake overhaul but will compile a list of what I could do with obtaining!

Cheers for all the comments peeps! I find the model history interesting Lows are on mind of course, just finding out what fits! Wheel wise here is what is on her atm: I think its because they're multi fit that they're playing on my mind? Other foibles have been noted as well after a few drives, sloppy gear stick and the headlights flickered off twice! Ibe been told to look for dampness in the fuse box, which seems ok so I suspect the switch. Odd arrangement, in that it's a big button or two in the middle of the dash, then high beam is on the stalk. But anyway! I think the exhaust has a slight blow, but everytime I go to find it it rains lol She does seem remarkably solid, bit of bubbling on the top of the front wing, which I thought was an odd place!

So I managed to have a fairly modern car for about a month. Sold it to raise some pennies and planned to just stick to my motorcycles, but then this little beastie popped up on ebay! I was car-less for 4 days, too long really so it was a good thing! So what do I have for my 30,000 pennies? A nice little old old motor with power steering (legitimate luxury) and some wolfrace wheels that I can't decide if I like or not. I actually genuinely like this car, inre, ever them being sold by the garage next door when I was a kid, and my mum thought they were 9pd fashioned and basic then! Which really is what I like! The felicia was the last skoda made ona skoda platform, and this one has the skoda engine as well so whilst you can see the vw touches (I'm convinced the steering wheel is mk3 golf) it's a real skoda! She is basic, it took me ages to workout that the kits were buttons in the middle of the dash, and she has plenty of foibles but a good motor. Plans will be - fix foibles, look to lower and decide on wheels. Foibles are: clutch is iffy, should probably put a new one in. Same goes for the front brakes. The rear book lock required my sister to beat it into sub, ission and actually shut, and the drivers door lock will only unlock with the key. A hole in the exhaust will also need identifying. All in all he, not bad! Additionally, not a car that I can recall seeing for a while in the wild!

So currently I don't have a retro car, for the first time in my life and I'm not amused. I've got a 2008 Fiesta Ghia, in flame red, with all the modern toys (it's even got leather seats) and I do rather like it. However I don't drive often these days, and just prefer something older! Would anyone fancy a swap? Bigger and a towbar would suit me, bit can be tempted by whatever! I'm in Bristol www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1465676743808569/

Really enjoying the KA thread PP, just the sort of build I like! 😆 something to be said for a scrap yard sourced 3d puzzle it is also always entertaining to read of your close encounters with the reaper, by which I mean your testing of your womenfolk! My management has many a theory as to how you get away with it... Personally I keep her appraised of your adventures as I like to use you as a fulcrum, in case I'm in the dog house or want to buy another project! "at least I didn't... but I could have... etc" 🤣 As an aside, is this any use? www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-KA-streetka-breaking-full-car-/184722086748?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0I'm only over the bridge from it if you need me to grab some bits

I have a 1986 Daihatsu Charade for sale.. You sound like a guy who appreciates small square hatchbacks that enjoy a bit of liftoff oversteer when you're being silly, and as such I feel it could be right up your street... now that does sound tempting... and how disd you know me so well? 😝 ping me some details! Edit: I've just found the thread, will have a read!

So far I have put eBay bids on an A40 Farina, a metro and some old J stuff.
No wins yet, as it all goes higher than the cost of a London pint, but will see!
Not got a retro for the first time, well ever really. I must admit my expectation for the prices is a few years out! Good fun browsing though!

I would certainly agree she is eminently fixable. However the rules of storage at the in laws don't permit.

Just a thought 're my no claims discount.
Obviously I will be at fault for the crash that wrote the 205 off, although I am not making a claim I expect the other party will.
My NCD however is on my other car. Does anyone know how that will be affected?

Right. As a few of you may know I had a disaster on my way up for the gathering this year, stuffing my 205 in the wet into the back of a blasted %$@!...
Anyway, to date I have never made it to the gathering in a retro car, not have I, despite my years and posts on this forum, had much success with build threads (the only builds I've finished I haven't documented properly!) So need to buck my ideas up a bit.
So, following discussions with some of the top team of this parish, I need to make it to RRG next year (you listen covid...) in a retro, and get it up the hill.
Her however is the rub, I am skint! I mean del and Rodney skint, so this will have to be a proper shoestring build.
The first thing will be finding the right car, so if anyone has any suggestions I will be most grateful!
