So I managed to have a fairly modern car for about a month. Sold it to raise some pennies and planned to just stick to my motorcycles, but then this little beastie popped up on ebay! I was car-less for 4 days, too long really so it was a good thing! So what do I have for my 30,000 pennies? A nice little old old motor with power steering (legitimate luxury) and some wolfrace wheels that I can't decide if I like or not. I actually genuinely like this car, inre, ever them being sold by the garage next door when I was a kid, and my mum thought they were 9pd fashioned and basic then! Which really is what I like! The felicia was the last skoda made ona skoda platform, and this one has the skoda engine as well so whilst you can see the vw touches (I'm convinced the steering wheel is mk3 golf) it's a real skoda! She is basic, it took me ages to workout that the kits were buttons in the middle of the dash, and she has plenty of foibles but a good motor. Plans will be - fix foibles, look to lower and decide on wheels. Foibles are: clutch is iffy, should probably put a new one in. Same goes for the front brakes. The rear book lock required my sister to beat it into sub, ission and actually shut, and the drivers door lock will only unlock with the key. A hole in the exhaust will also need identifying. All in all he, not bad! Additionally, not a car that I can recall seeing for a while in the wild!

Very nice indeed... The last 'actual' Skoda I presume??!! First VAG Skoda really, it was a redesign of the Skoda Favorit with VAG running gear. The pick-up version was also badged a VW Caddy.

Sort of. All models used a Skoda gearbox regardless of engine type; VW or Skoda, suspension and brakes were Skoda too. Even the wheel bolts were different to VW.

That is unusually solid for a Felicia. the Fabia was the first full VAG product out of Skoda, it used the Polo floorpan before the Polo of its era was updated, they just dabbled with the Felicia using what they could as they tooled up for the Fabia.

Oh I like this and looks like you got a good deal. Pretty tough little things if I recall correctly 👍
Any more pics of the Wolfrace wheels - I think they have potential when mixed with a light drop.
Bookmarked 😎

All models used a Skoda gearbox regardless of engine type; VW or Skoda, suspension and brakes were Skoda too. Even the wheel bolts were different to VW. There’s a lot of VW in the suspension and brakes too. There’s some major differences like the front strut design, but then a large portion of the stuff outwards of there is swappable. The rear stub axles are the same so you can swap the rear brakes around a lot. Front discs and calipers are shared too. They’re really a halfway house. There’s so much that’s still Skoda but there’s VWs grubby fingerprints everywhere. Does make you wonder why they bothered when they were going to bin off the entire platform within a couple of years.

Solid little cars these. I had one, same colour, same reg, for my first car. Took my heavy handed teenage driving comfortably in its stride!

Top fun and surprisingly tough if you have a solid one. One of the best cars I've had for snow driving flat out, the poor thing got biffed about quite a bit but kept coming back for more.
I always thought that some lows and tyres with a good bit of sidewall would suit these. Chunky looking'.

Cheers for all the comments peeps! I find the model history interesting Lows are on mind of course, just finding out what fits! Wheel wise here is what is on her atm: I think its because they're multi fit that they're playing on my mind? Other foibles have been noted as well after a few drives, sloppy gear stick and the headlights flickered off twice! Ibe been told to look for dampness in the fuse box, which seems ok so I suspect the switch. Odd arrangement, in that it's a big button or two in the middle of the dash, then high beam is on the stalk. But anyway! I think the exhaust has a slight blow, but everytime I go to find it it rains lol She does seem remarkably solid, bit of bubbling on the top of the front wing, which I thought was an odd place!

They don’t have front arch liners so the mud sprays up and sticks to the back of the top wing rail, so yeah they rot right at the top. Wings are cheap though.
It’s focus coilovers that fit on the front, there’s a few options for the rear.
Ive just ordered a full gear linkage from CZ as the one on mine was doing my head it, it was £55 delivered for the full assembly which I thought was ok. £20 cheaper than uk sellers anyway.
I’ve just bought one (a car version) to break for bits for my pickup if you need anything.

I have fond childhood memories in the back of 1 of these. My dad bought a white Felica (T785 JOP) when the trusty Rover 416 HHR was on its last legs. We had it for years and I don't recall it ever really going wrong aside from needing its timing chain replaced a few things for an MOT the 1 year. Family holidays every year down to Devon boot absolutely packed full and it never missed a beat. I think we owned it for 4-5 years before my parents sold it for a Xsara Picasso 1.6 sadly its no longer on the road but the memories remain.

Love all the old memories cars can bring up, it's like when I see a mk3 fiesta a mk1 mondeo:) additionally, for the sizenof the car a remarkable amount of space inside for sure! Dez thanks chap, will get one from CZ then! I'm planning on doing it at the same time as the clutch. Wasnt expecting focus thought it would be a polo nor something but that's handy, in only thinking a 30mm drop st the moment. Cheers re breaker bits offer, so far urgent nits are the light switch and a break front brake overhaul but will compile a list of what I could do with obtaining!

Sad for you, but so long as no-one was hurt, it's upsetting when you loose a car you like, but it could have been a whole lot worse. Onward and upward 👆
