In my ongoing quest to find an empty barn local to me to store cars and perhaps run a small car community garage, I found a small place by chance.
I took my kids to feed some lambs earlier this year at a local farm and got talking to the farmer. He told me that he had a barn on his estate that was rented by the last owner to an older guy. No one had been in here for years. The rent is still what it was at 20 years ago and he wanted to put this up to the current market rate. The elderly chap cant afford it and has asked for help to clear.
I went over a couple of weeks ago and met the chap - who is lovely. He had a thing for Triumph cars and actually all BL stuff. When the doors were opened, i was like a pig in the poop. 7 cars in there, mostly (6) Triumph 2000/2500s. 5 Saloons and 1 estate and one Triumph Toledo. They are all dirty and rusty, proper barn finds. The last tax discs are around 1993, so shows the last time these ran. They seem complete and if they are'nt, he has the parts. The big surprise was that he has £150k of New Old Stock BL and Triumph parts still in original boxes.
I have been asked to help clear this out. If you want/need any Triumph or BL items, please PM me and I will ask him to dig these out. He is a lovely guy and doesn't want to give these away, but is fair. The farmer has tasked him with clearing by end of January and we will try to make him enough retirement money as we can.
Pictures when i am allowed to share.
I have my eye on the Estate to make into some sort of air ride car - but everything is for sale.

Neat! I'll have a look around my T2000 and see what stuff I might need. Is it mainly stock parts or are there any go-faster bits? Anything for the Rover 2600 engine? Typically it takes a very long time to completely get rid of large amounts of stock. The big/desirable stuff sells quickly but then the bitty little stuff takes forever. If he's getting close to the deadline and still has lots of stock it'd be worth getting in touch with some of the Triumphs parts people to see if they'd buy stuff up in bulk. Chris Witor specialises in saloon stuff, Canley Classics is always worth a recommendation, Wins International and TD Fitchett breaks cars and specialises in NoS/used stuff, and of course there's Rimmerbros.

Thanks BiTurbo228 - I really appreciate it. Please do let me know what you need. Its mainly NOS and not really go faster bits.
The owner has some strong opinions on Rimmer Bro's :-).
I have a suspicion that he will clear the cars and then rent space for his stock from me for the next 30 years, trying to clear his stock. Lets see......

Nice find! And you jammy so & so re the big Triumph estate - I learnt to drive in our Mk 2 2000 estate and have fond memories of both it and the Mk 1 we had too. Shame I already have 3 project cars and no space to work on them so couldn't really run to another anyway (sound familiar? ) When you say he's got loads of BL NOS bits, are they pretty much for the Triumphs? Only wondering as 2 of my projects are old Minis (1963 & 1987). Cheers, Steve

Wasn't there someone on here a while ago looking for an axle for a 2000 or2500, amongst other things?

If he's got any bits from Rover 2600 SD1 engines then I'd be up for those, but they do tend to be a bit unloved. If he has a 2.5 PI fuel tank then I'd be after one of those as well probably can't swing payment immediately if he's got some bits, but will have it before Jan.

Interested in the Toledo if it's a 2 door and maybe the Estate if you don't have it yourself, I have an evil plan involving a Skyline engine! And basically any parts for any of the Dolomite range. Can probably scrape up cash and transport for parts. Even in quantity! Can we have a clue as to the approximate location? I don't think specifics would be a good idea, might get gazumped! but something general like midlands, north east, south west or whatever would be helpful! Steve PFA

South West! But thats all i can share for now. Sadly the Toledo is a 4 door car. But your plan sounds really scary!! But massive fun. Please build it. For those who asked: biturbo228 - PI fuel tank - probably in there somewhere. Bits for 2600 engine - YES, lots!! I will keep in touch. I will post what we find as we start to catalogue the contents.

Sounds like a proper Aladdin's cave - thanks for sharing it with us.
Reminds me of when the old BL dealer in Yeovil moved location and several of us locals were invited by the parts manager to come in and help by buying up anything we needed. There were stacks of NOS items for the entire BL range, squirrelled away in lean-tos, sheds, and even a lock up under the local cinema!
Same as now, I was only interested in the Mini stuff but they had all sorts of things for other cars too - from chromework to carpet sets, radius arms to gold seal engines and gear boxes. I climbed into one of the service pits and found a brand new Mk 1 Mini passenger door!

Like Steve I'd be interested if there were any Dolomite body panels in the hoard, we could publicise anything Dolomite related through the club.
Thanks

Geoff at Wins International (up the road from me in East Grinstead) might be interested in buying all the stock.

Any Princess (wedge shape) stuff would be of interest, particularly bodywork, and even more particularly any sections of rear arch in useable condition. Ambassador front valance and lower front wing portions (everything below bumper level, essentially) would also be of interest, new or used. It's a long shot, I know, but you never know what's lurking in BL spares collections so it's always worth asking just in case.

Knowing what the bits are is more than half the battle when trying to sell. I just bought out a small motor factor when they retired. No list of what anything is, so a lot of looking things up in my future ! Always fancied a 2500 but you might be too far away. Will keep an eye on what goes on though, and good luck sorting through it all.

Hey - thanks for resurrecting. Some politics took over and the online business failed even though it was doing very well.
The owner of all the parts is doing well and has a business on Ebay and Facebook. Let me know if you need anything and I can put you in touch with him.
