I've considered fitting a sebring kit to mine aswell but it means cutting alot of the rear arches away and it seems a shame to do that when they are not rusty? although i may consider fitting a kit when/if the dreaded tin worm starts to appear on them...

Yes your right just couldn't find a decent pic to show the bulge on an RV8.
I like the MGC bonnet but i can only find them for a good price in fibreglass but ideally want to keep a metal bonnet and keep using the standard bonnet hinges and catch. I've been told that trying to utilise those on a fibgreglass panel is a right nightmare....so I want to avoid a full fibreglass bonnet if possible..
The capri bulge looks ideal! will have to have a look round in my local scrap yards...

Just for info this is what a typical RV8 bonnet looks like although i would not need the little extra bulge,

I need to fit a bonnet bulge to my MGB for the v8 conversion that i will be start next weekend and i need to either buy an rv8 bonnet with a bulge for £330 or make my own......as i need extra clearance for the carb set up.... I would like to do the latter by modding my own bonnet and i think i may have found a suitable bonnet bulge to use as a donor, Just for comparison my bonnet as it is now, The proposed 'donor' bulge, (would be used the other way round and would get rid of that curse word vent thing) Now this panel is only £20 'buy it now' price on ebay so is cheap enough to buy and chop up so the plan would be to chop the required hole out of mine and the use sections of the above fibreglas panel. I've not really worked with fibreglass much before, that panel looks quite thin so i should imagine it would be quite flexible and would bend to the shape of the bonnet reasonably well if needed. Reckon it looks do-able? or can you think of anything else that could have an ideal bulge that i would be likley to find in a scrapyard? ideally steel as i would prefer to use metal...

Wish i hadn't seen this thread, makes me really regret not buying this caddy that was in scrap yard by me a few months back I had a really good look at it was very solid but very ratty, it was a diesel and a non runner. I asked the guy how much for the complete car and he said £175 which tempted me and just as i was leaving digged out the stuff that came with and it also had 7 months mot remaining and like a prat i still didn't buy it as i was short of cash that month Not even been back to that scrapyard since as i know it will be all stripped and sitting on top of a pile now

My e30 cab is an auto and its great lazy driving and using daily for work. Makes it so much easier to eat and drink when driving haha But to be honest if i only had one car it would have to be a manual.....

Any planned upgrades to your ride? a new 'look'? a bigger power plant? or maybe you have a new ride in the pipe line?
Me personally, i've got a pretty busy year planned.........
I need to finish my beetle project thats been going on for far to long now, about 4 years!!!
It's currently a bare shell sitting on the chassis, the chassis and body are now fully restored and 100% rot free and i just need do the final prep work on the shell and spray it. I then have the difficult task of remembering where i put all the bits i took off 4 years ago and figure out how it all goes back together ;D
I will also be fitting a v8 in the MGB at the end of January as its currently not useable as the piston rings have gone on the current engine. I've got 70% of all the bits need and the rest can be bought off the shelf so i'll get them after xmas.......
I'm 'hoping' it will be a nice and easy conversion and i'll make sure i start a thread once i get stuck in and keep it updated with piccys likewise with my Beetle progress...
What have you got planned for 2006?

I'm getting pretty excited about fitting it ;D (sad i know lol) I'm just looking forward the moment of starting it for the first time..... Just picked up an alternator off ebay for £20 so i'm slowly gathering all the bits i need. I'll start thread once i get stuck into the conversion and keep it updated with piccie's.
