So, over the last few months I've been doing a little bit. First thing on my mind was not having the S/C ported which would really compliment the smaller S/C pulley. I came across another S/C that was for sale, it was cheap too and guy selling was a gent and helped out with the shipping from England to Ireland, I couldn't have asked for more. I'll keep the orignal S/C as a spare which is nice to have. Here's the S/C, dirty both externally and internally. I reckon an oil leak from the rocker cover and clogged PCV system were the culprits. Not an issue as I'll clean it up anyway for paint. This time round I'll do the same as I did on the other S/C in April last year. New needle and pulley bearings and outlet gasket. But I'll also fit an upgraded double lipped shaft seal instead of the stock less ridged single lip and use Kenne Bell Lucas oil rather than the usual eBay stuff.

Woofwoof that is very precise haha. (But see above if it stops that close to 500bhp il be asking for 1 more psi haha) Yeah it is! I broke out my crystal ball... Ha,ha. Joking aside, personally I wouldn't be too concerned about max Bhp, I think driveability is key, a nice spread of torque would be great.

Hey, Matt what's the max boost pressure set at? It's got a 12 psi spring in the external gate. Although I've a boost controller plumbed in. It has nothing set to it as YET so working purely on spring pressure.. If we're being exact max psi the ECU is seeing is 13.4psi confirmed by the logs I've done over last few days. Cheers O.k.. In that case it will 496.6 bhp...😉😁👍

Anyone got any suggestions please? Sorry to hear of your misfortune and I can't offer any solutions but my gut feeling is, if go down the route of buying and fitting another engine and even presuming that engine and associated parts are o.k. it will probably cost around the same money as repairing the pump or maybe more. Not really helpful I know but worth bearing in mind.

Great to see you're making more progress.
It's getting rather sophisticated eh? Opening rear doors and working w/screen washers. 😉
Whatever next..😁
As usual looking forward to more updates.👍

Thanks for all the replies guys. On the Suzuki front, any experience between the 1.0 and 1.2 to mention? My gut feel is 1.2 but Sally seems interested in the 1.0 as she mostly commute’s But it is an option of through town, or motorway. 20 miles each direction. Opinions please, or experience. The Mrs is looking to change her Swift within 12 months, she'll be looking at 2019 1.2 rather than the 1.0 turbo. I'm sure the turbo version is great, more performance etc but the 1.2 knocks out 90 bhp with excellent mpg as I mentioned earlier and it's perfectly suited to the car. Importantly the 1.2's seem bulletproof , there won't be a turbo issue ever to contend either. As usual horses for courses.

Mrs WW, is on her third Swift, currently a 2016 1.2 (N/A 4 pot). She liked the Fiesta very much and wanted one instead of another Swift. When all was said and done she reckoned the better value car was the Swift. Oh, and it's doing 60+ mpg. She's happy, therefore I think the Swift is greatest car ever!

That's really a great bit of fabrication. You could change tracks with it , never mind operate a handbrake. Top work.

At last refitted everything back on the engine and when for a test drive. Long story short, Wow what a difference the smaller S/C has made.
Cruising in say 5th off boost, then go sudden wide open throttle there's now 9 psi with a the max boost pressure is 13-13.5 psi. Prior to this I had 10.5 psi max , the stock spec is 6.5-7.0 psi max
I think, I've hit the target BHP that I wanted 240 @ fly & 200+ @ the wheels.
To sum up it's a different car to drive, the extra BHP is one thing but the extra torque and spread of the increased torque makes it actually fast. Of course being a car originally introduced in the early 90's it's not heavy which helps.
Now I'm just waiting on higher pressure fuel regulator.

It looks great, even up on the ramps. I never get tired looking at the wheel arch extensions. It great too that you've onto the exhaust now, the home run.
I'm presuming once the engine is run-in it will be back to the RR for a bit of remapping?

Thanks everyone! I'm glad others are equally intrigued by this pointless exercise. It was an ideal thread for Xmas day, there was some rubbish on the TV... I looked at the photo again and what looked like a wing repeater seems to my eyes now is actually the reflection of another car's number plate and it's side lights.
