Buying & selling-which cars?brachunky

Almost 2 years ago my better half & me moved to SW Scotland to hopefully enjoy a quieter life and catch our breath after caring for our disabled son for over 20 years. It's been hard work so far but worth it living in a secluded rural environment. Her health has also deteriorated to the point that I am now her carer and had to resign from my job of 19 years to allow me the flexibility to be there, so to speak, for both of them. If I'm honest, the love of cars and a bunch of good mates have given me the strength to deal with the changes but with financial pressures on us all, I really need to bump up my income a little but need to do it for myself and not with a boss/targets/too many rules looking over my shoulder. I have the space to do a bit of car flipping and minor improvement work to them. I feel I can handle this in between other responsibilities.
The plan is to flip budget entry level cars which is already a challenge with the ridiculous prices they are going for at the moment. Despite this and the acknowledgement that budget cars are not going to bring in a great income, I feel this sector may still be worth honing in on.
I'm thinking Citroen C1's, Ford Fiesta's, Corsa's, Mazda 2's, Fiat Panda's and so on. The possibility of small car based vans for new start up business's also tickles me (think Prozac). I do have an old smiley transporter arriving at some point which will be a boon for cars without MOT's
I would appreciate any advice from those who may already flip or indeed have stopped doing it for whatever reason. What models would you suggest and which ones to steer clear of, be that because they are simply bad news or parts prices etc make them a non starter.
Thanks for reading all this!

Mates have often described me as weird or strange so this scene is amusingly attractive! A tedious link to rat cars but more dents

I have refrained from commenting so far as my head is just spinning with the fun you could have in this turd on wheels Ideas on a power hike has already been poked in the thread so I'm thinking possibly it being a "show" toy dragged about on a little trailer! After watching a few recent episodes of Mighty Car Mods with their single seater Daihatsu, my mind wanders to a uber mini truck conversion, banded wheels and a little drop closer to the tarmac. A bench seat would be nice too too. The resale opportunity in the future will be pretty bleak so why not go nuts with it! MCM's midget:

I really rate Hydrate 80 and would suggest contacting their service department for any further tips/advice they could offer with your problem. You could go in circles trying to find the perfect product!

Bit late to the chat. I quite possibly may have some manifolds. But they do sell header bolts with an Allen head on them. So don't need a spanner or socket to fit them. Get some new gaskets and some of the Allen bolted bolts. Should be good to go then. Good luck. If you still want to go the manifold route. I could quite possibly help. My number is 07nine five seven417505. Best to actually Whatsapp me. As I love in a bad reception area. I'm not a scammer. I know Paul Y. Plus Dez and others on here. Have a. Good day all. Thanks Roland Cheers Roland, appreciated. I have seen those allen head bolts, suppose as long as they are hardened steel, they may not round off after time. It's either them or trying 8mm head bolts.

If someone put an electric gun to my head, it would be the Rivian I reckon even though I'm not too taken with its front end.

Well it's not a race bud so slowing down ain't bad. Enjoy the challenge and use the CV19 down time to research & plan. The Rezin Rocket has had me looking the net for a future project too although that would be after the Hijet is going!

My mate had a rotten old death trap of a mini, with one of those terrible fibreglass fronts on. But as you do at 17 he wanted some Carlos Fandango’s on it & was skint. So he just took the wheels off & turned them around 🤣🤦🏼♂️ Yup, I had a mate who did that too, mental!!!!

My mind wanders a lot as I'm firmly in the "middle age" period of life. On a recent "wander" I was reminiscing on all the damn dangerous mods etc we did to our often, first set of wheels. Yes I cringed with my thoughts on how I made a 13" steering wheel fit on my 1963 1200 Beetle No off the shelf bosses in my town so hacked the original bus size VW steering wheel down to the splined hub and drilled a few holes into it. Then of course, I mounted said 13" steering wheel with gutter bolts and called it job done! Did it work? Yes and drove it like that for years as over in SA, you only required a roadworthy test aka MOT when selling the vehicle so that wasn't of any concern. Was I a knob?, yes big time but that was the ignorance of a teenager who loved his car in a country with bigger issues than Brachunky's dodgy Beetle. I can't have been the only one so whose gonna own up too? A better example of a 65 1200 and certainly not mine

Think I might have 1 in the shed, will look at the weekend. Any reason not to use headers? Once you factor in the price of the shipping you are going to be pretty close in cost. P. Paul, it has headers on now (brand unknown) but I don't want to be fighting with the curse word design whereas the 10mm bolts are so close to the tubes, you cant even get a thin wall socket or ring spanner on them. I have read to dent the tubes next to the header bolt holes and/or go for 8mm bolts neither of which fills me with excitement! The rear most bolt is a nightmare to remove and even when I get it out eventually, torqueing then down again to stop further gasket leakage seems to be a guaranteed weakpoint. Going with stock manifolds seems a better long term solution.

Paul Y any pointers here ? Know anyone selling? brachunky have you posted on the C10 pages on FB, and also in Nigels Unusual Cars for saloe, parts wanted section ? Grizz, I'm rather uneducated as to which vehicles used the same rear exit so have not explored any other FB pages than the UK OBS page. I could definitely look at Nigels page.

Chaps, I am on the lookout for a pair of factory exhaust 6 bolt manifolds with the rear downpipe outlet, not the centre outlet version. They are to fit my 1992 Chevy CK1500 with the 350 TBI engine so pre Vortec. Of course Rock Auto have them but carraige charges on 2 cast iron manifolds would require selling a kidney Thanks for reading!
