My mate built this last year but it still needed finishing off. He had it up for sale over Xmas with no takers, he then relisted it recently for a far fairer price. I'd just sold the del sol & I'm currently breaking my eunos mx5 so I'm always on the look out for projects. It needs an mot, a Misfire sorting & a good clean up. I'd say it's a 75%er. We did a deal which worked well for me so it's now mine. My plan is to redo the interior, including re trimming the seats. Remove the bed & strip the back half of the chassis & clean everything up. I plan on fitting pine slats & metal trim like the American pick ups but in the Yakisugi style of burnt wood & natural varnish. Anyway have a look & enjoy.

Gotta be worth it, just for the wheels and front bumper.
Love it.

Nothing to report except it's finally at home. Plan on removing the bed this weekend.

I put the jet up on ramps & stands so I could get a good luck underneath, then decided to pull the bed for easier viewing. I've decided I'm going to pull out all the brake & Fuel lines & remake them as it's mess. Removed the fuel lines & Fuel tank already & the rear axle is loose & ready to remove. Tank looks a bit crusty so I'll clean that up & inspect it soon. Constructive day & more to come.

Somehow I would be tempted to make the cab removable too for a proper overhauling of the chassis. Or for future engine works.

I've been debating how I was going to tackle the cab & if I wanted the hassle. At the start of June I bought a pair of doors as mine are a but crusty in places. While buying the guy told me about a hijet pick up local so I asked him to sort a few pics. Fast forward until today & I finally got the chance to go & look at it. Cab is completely rust free & all the mechanicals look great. Low mileage & only 2 previous owners. A deal was done & I'm hoping to have it home next week. I'm going to tackle this a bit different to my normal strip it bare & start fresh, the plan is to sort the engine with a service, strip & rebuild brakes, check bushes, ball joints etc & mot it. Then I'll add my flipped rear axle, coilovers & wheels.

Saw these pics ianlea73 and was not sure if I should post them in your thread as further inspiration or not. If you want me to delete the entry, let me know. I do like a truck.

The jet never ran when I bought it so this weekend I had a chance to check ignition, relays, coilpacks etc. I have a wiring short or earth somewhere as even with the key out the ignition I have the hazard light & battery light constantly lit up. I removed the coilpacks to check spark & had nothing so next was the ignition module on the rocker cover. It basically fell apart when I unbolted it from the rocker so I went on fb to source a replacement to see if it will sort my issue. Also did a compression test 190-175 on all 4 cylinders so happy with that. New part is ordered so will see if it fires this weekend.

While I was waiting for the ignition module to show up I decided to pull the fuel tank & check through the fuel system & I'm glad I did. The petrol smelt like, like, like um stale petrol. The metal return line was corroded & the fuel filter was semi blocked & when I blew it out there was loads of crud. So I've ordered a slightly bigger straight pipe filter, an alloy housing, fuel pump, new 8mm cotton braided fuel line & stainless clips. That gave me time to remove the tank. Stripped, cleaned, jenolite red oxide & hammerite black paint. I've stripped & cleaned the sender & fuel pump housing & replaced the corroded plugs with waterproof ones. Here's where I am at the moment.

I've been doing loads too both trucks but nothing to picture. They've been getting on my nerves lately so decided to make a frivolous purchase. Genuine nardi mx5 steering wheel with great lacquer peel & a bit tatty, perfect for this truck. Really like it & it's motivated me again to crack on

The wide body truck belongs to the Drift Games guys in Ireland. They have quite a big YouTube channel.
