Whilst I'm waiting on some bits for the exhaust/ fuel system on the cortina I thought I'd start stripping and fixing the doors- is it going to affect the shell if I remove the doors whilst it's in the air?
It's not a hot a lot in the car but I don't want it to go banana shaped!

Without sounding too thick - wouldn't boring a v4 be similar practice to a v6 or v8? Have you spoken to throbnozzle racing?
He's down south and knows his way round old ford's
Edit: I know it's a lancia engine but it's worth a go

Thanks for the ad I've Ian, I'd fortunately put the flared ends the way you'd suggested which is lucky!
I'm making it for my mk1 cortina, there was a manifold and system available but they were 5-600 but they're not being made anymore.
My other option was an Ashley system but they aren't great and have twin box plus they're mild steel so for about £100 I've got the bits to make a single box stainless system.
Plus I like the challenge!

I loved the frozen capri, shame about the body but your new capri has plenty of potential. I'm looking forward to seeing more of it

With all that done I'm currently working on a stainless steel exhaust which I've nearly finished but I've run out of bends so the main fabrication is done!
My aim is to have the car running with fuel from the tank, a proper exhaust and charging from an alternator (more to come) then it's teardown for paint prep!

I have a small facet pump (box type) I want to mount it near to my tank but as the tank is under the car I wasn't sure what's the best way?
Any advice would be ideal as the bracket I had thought of would be quite tall on one end as the floor slopes away for the rear axle.

I'm making an exhaust but I'm struggling to figure out bend angles and making brackets
Does anyone have any advice?

I'm getting the bits together to make a new loom for the cortina, I'd like hazards just in case but I'm struggling to find what's best.
There are kits available but the switch looks very long and I'm not sure if I'll have room under the dash where I'd like to put it so a simple rocker switch would be more suitable - it's just wiring it up!
Is it possible to get a relay that does both indicators and hazards? If so where and how does it wire up?

I know nothing about this stuff, the eBay mp3 player mentioned - would it need an amp to get 4 speakers and a small bass speaker?
I don't know what it all means!

Thanks guys, I just feel stupid for doing it.
The plan is to make a new loom - salvage the plugs etc and tie in the other upgrades such as electric fan, fuel pump and whatever else I can think of!
Off to buy some crayons and plan my route out!

As I've mentioned in recent posts I'm getting some electrical problems which I'd thought I'd address today as I was off work... I managed to sort the sidelights and was onto sorting the indicators as the left was on all the time when all of a sudden everything got very hot I don't know what happened or why I'm just throughly disappointed in myself and now I need to start again pulling the loom out and figuring out what needs replacing but being unsure whether it what I am doing is right I like the car but I feel like everything is a fight with it and I'm definitely not wining

That'll make things easier if I can make my own hangers! The flares would be off the shelf I'll need 1 for the manifold to pipe, the over axle has one as it comes leaving at least one v band.
Welding will be mig tack welds to hold it followed by full tigs once it is all done
