When the 12v socket in my car broke I found a bicycle stirrup pump surprisingly easy to use. You can put your weight over it and they have a nice long stroke
You don't have to balance between pumping and staying upright

I guess they don't provide a phone number?
In my experience emails are often ignored or treated to the 'corporate response'

I have to love how people get so concerned over some numbers on a clock on such an old car . i would say that's probably true. What is the worst that could have happened? Does it really matter that much now? I guess it depends what sort of car and how much you're thinking of spending What car is it?

I bought this a couple of years ago at auction. I thought i could put it on ebay, quoting the numbers and it would sell I actually did get an offer from someone in South Africa but i didn't want the risk of it not arriving Research tells me it is a 'DAF LF 4.5 TD 4 CYLINDER CYLINDER HEAD - FITS 2007-10' or a 'Cummins® CM 4.5L, ISD, ISBe Cylinder Head' None of which mean a lot to me Was this used in the UK much? It looks pretty new so may be worth over £100? The ones i have seen are offered at £500 - $800 Thanks

Yes a wind generator would be a good idea. At least to work along with the solar panels
I have a petrol generator but it's a bit loud to have on all the time

Thanks, I'm trying to keep within budget. I haven't got £500 yet. It would be nice to know what i actually get from them Real world advice is what helps with things like this and i have just found these guys. I'll put their links up in case anyone else finds it useful. Very helpful and they supply new and used kit to suit your needs, and local enough to me (Leeds) to go and chew the fat They advise spending money on a good charge controller (£260) then adding used panels in as and when needed. They reckon £500 would get a reliable and flexible 500w system, which would hopefully do the job, or can be added to later www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165W-MONOCRYSTALLINE-BLACK-SOLAR-PANELS-ONLY-59-/131893996459?hash=item1eb57eabab:g:8eoAAOSwUfNXSae7ianeenergy.co.uk/

I used to have a recurring daydream of a dirty white Nissan Bluebird saloon with rear wheel drive chevy v8 Sorta like this with / without hubcaps The last of the 80s RWD bluebird, similar boxy look but instead of 1/2 a ton of pig iron chev v8 what about nissans alloy v8 or toyotas Yeh I think it was the simple muscular nature I liked Something obnoxious about a loud, growling one of these. The rwd conversion may take some work though
