Took the drivers door off and powerfiled little rust spots and then a coat of enamel. Not paint job of the year but ideal for preservation. Trial fitted the illuminated hood ornament I picked up. Missus says it makes it look like it should have a bigger engine ha ha. Sorry about pic quality.

Sorry about the woes. It is disappointing. There are some engines on ebay that might be cheaper than a rebuild. Don't give up its a lovely car

Hi all. Just thought I would mention a cracking TV programme on Netflix that's set in the 80s. It's called White Gold. Got some great 80s cars in and fab music. Just what we need to cheer us up. Its funny too. Not for little uns, but great for adults. Cheers Jed

Interesting isn't it? It seems so many were about such a short time ago. I am trying to think of another mass produced classic that's become so collectable so soon after production ceased. I know escorts have but its 40 years since the last mk2 rolled out.

Looks like a good investment. A bit like how mk1 fiestas and now mk1 one's seem to be on the rise as people like xr2s but might be out of reach. I like the 5 series especially the shark nose.

Hi all, I can't believe the prices of BMW e30s from the 80s and 90s these days. Great cars I know but I wondered why the 5 series of the same period are less desirable and cheaper? Personally I like them more but thought I would ask if you think they too will shoot up in price?

That's good. I heard good fuel from Shell etc is good too as opposed to supermarket stuff and regularly filling up and usage is healthy as it has detergents and things. Might just be a myth but I am gonna use it in my tarmac eating moggy 😁

A prod through the years of underseal with a sharp pointy screwdriver is revealing that the moggy is pretty solid. It went through the boot floor on one side though. So I chopped it out and cut a repair panel for both underneath and on the top side as it's double skinned. It was so close to the tank I decided to whip it out. Glad I did as the tank got the same prodding and it's keput. So on the look out for another. If it were a lambojeeni del boy I would see about getting it repaired but moggy tanks are fairly common. It was good to see the inner wings whilst exposed as they are good. Cheers Jed

I have had the subscription twice Dan and managed to get both gifts.same magazine. Done Lancashire life to for my mum. All OK. What a shame. Maybe hang fire until there is a good free gift again and try again. I always get pleasently surprised when I get in from work and it's arrived.

Yes exactly that. In the early 80s we had lots of technical advancements, the home computer etc. The maestro had some models that talked. It was a big gimmick really but was in the press and on the news. It wasn't that intuitive. It didn't say "morning Barbara, I like your chiffon blouse" but it would say low on fuel etc 😊
