I have drive, but car sluggish, won’t change gears under 2000 rpm, with all 4 wheels off the ground & in neutral can’t turn the wheels by hand, I just think I need to take the box out fit it back in correctly fo hopefully resolve the issues Thanks for the appreciative comment👍

Bit of progress Front & rear bumpers fitted, grill on But gearbox coming out, as I fear I may have installed it incorrectly ie, fitted the torque converter to the engine before sliding the gear box over it, according to people who know what there talking about, the torque converter should be fitted to the upended gearbox, then the whole lot mated to the engine & bolted to the flex plate through an inspection hole Oh well

I had a BX 17RD in 1990 when I was 17 & put an extra notch in the ride height adjust lever between fully low & normal ride height ( instant lowering)👍 ![](http://img.retro-rides.org/i/v/hart5lizard/f15efac6ce7d.jpg) ,

I am starting to warm to this epic jag In its day it was one of the quickest saloons around,0 to 60 in 6 seconds & limited to 155mph, beating Mercedes & bmw & forcing them to up their game, it’s on a par with the lotus Carlton, try picking one of those up for £800, it is so very understated, not even a boot lip spoiler, just a boot badge the size of a Bourbon biscuit & a mesh grille I have removed the alternator, which involved jacking up the drivers side & removing the wheel, allowing me to have a bit of a prod, and the prognosis is not favourable, the end of the sill on both sides has dissolved I’ll fit the new alternator when it turns up & see what the mot guy has to say ![]() [/img] ![]() [/img] ![]() [/img] ![]() [/img] ![]() [/img]

Is your Range Rover originally one of those registered by Land Rover themselves? My memory is telling me that KV registrations stand a chance of being factory registered. I can always be proved wrong; won't be the first time. :-) I have been told this by a couple of enthusiasts, press cars or something, possibly showcasing that years model improvements, traction control, air suspension, memory seats etc.

Should make for an awesome project. bookmarked this. The only slight shame I think is that the jag looks really clean inside and out. Jag was advertised as spares or repairs alternator fault, collected it on Tuesday & it does look presentable, I am going to swap the alternator & if that fixes the electrical issue, take it for an mot, the results of the mot test will help me to decide the fate of this car, either sell for a profit & buy another donor or use it as the donor

Soft dash is long gone my friend I have a 93 late hard dash with a rough body languishing in the weeds which I can exhume, remove the body from the chassis, then play around with axle locations etc. I also have a repairable body
Half decent body, check
Complete chassis, check
Complete donor jag, check
Bit of fabrication, shortened prop, modified exhaust, should see a rolling chassis 👍

I plan a controversial full swap engine, gearbox rear axle, front axle steering rack, suspension so it would be rear wheel drive, quite low big xkr alloys & that unmistakable, brutishly handsome, silhouette
A R R Classic Hot Rod!
