How do you go about fixing that? Fibreglass?
Engine wise have you considered a 1.4 ABD engine from a Mk3 Golf. Carb Manifold, carb and ignition system from a late Mk2 Polo will have it ready to drop in to replace your current engine.

Bookmarked. Bought myself a van to tinker with / convert earlier this year and never looked back. Intended it to be a second set of wheels, but now I've put 15k on the van and hate driving cars! This is my fave vintage of transit and you have worked magic on it. Particularly interested in the wheels as you've done exactly what I always had in mind. Â I wonder if those landy wheels will fit on a Vivaro.. Vivaro's are 5x118, most people fit BMW wheels.

I'm fairly sure people were saying this about our classics 30 or 40 years ago! My dad still maintains how terrible Cortina's are.

I must concur that it looks fantastic sitting like that. Hopefully you will be able to keep that ride height. Maybe with a little machining of the suspension pin thingys.

185/60/14's will catch on a lowered Polo. I run 185/50/14's on my coupe but I think they would be tight on a Squareback.

Isuzu Trooper? Dunno what they're like relability wise but they hadn't yet been suggested.
Props to your Mum for making the move. Its something we've considered doing and chickened out of even though we have family up there!

The amount you've stuck into it now, you might aswell swap the rear axle and engine!

Having the Renault so close at hand should help, you can now just pop out when you have a spare few moments.
Also means if you get fed up you can just wander back in the house for a brew! Keep up the good work, always enjoy these updates.

Excellent build! I too copied Chris Allen and bought 200SX arms for my 'tina. Unfortunately I never got mine fitted!

Saw the above picture and thought "wow that rake looks good!" Saw the second picture and thought "The back needs to be lowered!" Either way its a cool looking motor. Great interiors on these as well!
