Best car is this. Saab 900 Talladega FPT. I paid £360 for it and ran it for about 3 years. It got remapped by Jules on UkSaabs and was incredible. It had 175k on it when I parted with it and it still went like curse word off a shovel. I still have the original grille hanging from the rafters in my garage. I'd wanted a Saab with a turbo since I was a kid. I'm now on my third.

Worst, without doubt, was the Nova saloon we bought when my wife passed her test.
Everyone else agreed too because by christ was it hard to sell.

The furthest I've travelled is Hull, which the maps app says is 109 miles away. I took my 10yo son on the train. We collected the eBay purchase Saab NG900 FPT, detoured back over the Humber Bridge (I love bridges), and used lots of boost.

I'm on my second 9-3, a ragtop this time having had an estate before. I've never had trouble getting bits for them.
1.8ts are a bit gutless as standard but remaps are cheap and very effective. My old wagon came with a dealer fitted Hirsch remap to 195bhp. My convertible was remapped to 225bhp by saabnoob (who is the go-to guy) for under £100.

Manchester to Hull to collect my Saab 900. I took my son who was about ten at the time.
We detoured on the way back to go over the Humber bridge and deployed quite a bit of boost.
There was even a brief moment where I thought the electrics had died because I accidentally hit the night panel button.

My daughter snapped this one whilst getting her car serviced yesterday. Technically it's not abandoned now because the garage was having a look. Tax disc was from 2000. Thanks for posting this up, where is it? North Manchester. I've seen it in close and spoken to the bloke who has just sold it today. One owner, in a garage for 20odd years. It's very rotten but the new owner has plans apparently.

These are the ones I don't understand. I took a pic of the TR7 a few years ago. It was on a trailer then and looked freshly painted. It then moved from the trailer and doesn't appear to have been touched since. Now they've dumped an old Caddy behind it.

What I really like is that despite basically everything being modified, it still very much has the feel of a Mk2 Escort.

This may not technically be abandoned because someone has pulled it out of storage somewhere quite recently. Pulled out of storage, or dragged back to put the scaffolding up? 🤔 I wonder if it was in the garage. I walk and cycle past a lot so I'm sure I'd have noticed.

'71 on the J here. Some good stuff about in '71 including the Alfasud, Bobby Ewing SL, Fiat 127, Maserati Bora. This is easily the most ridiculous. Apologies for the lack of an actual J-plate on it.

Well. This certainly woke me up this morning. I wonder if it'll reach the level of notoriety the xk150 did

Manchester has a few to offer but possibly the most obscure is the Yak Yeoman made by Manchester Garages Ltd in Gorton. When I was a kid, someone near me had one and it fascinated me. Much later I learned from the internet that they were intended to be a ckd kit for shipping to developing countries. The running gear was RWD Ford with a clever gearbox with lower ratios to help it off road. The only one I've seen since primary school is this one in the Museum of Science and Industry (which is amazing if you're ever in Manchester with time to kill).

In my wife's CRV, which has aftermarket rubber mats, I made a hole in the mat and secured it to the seat frame with cable ties.

If it was one-owner, 1000 mile, perfect history, bent like a banana, after a concours resto then maybe. Aside from being beat to curse word, it looks fairly ropey anyway.

I really enjoyed vintage Voltage. Some of the conversions make more sense than the originals. Some not so much. I find the engineering fascinating though.
