My dream car if I could have anything would be either a Ferrari Dino 246 (I once owned a very accurate replica) or a Jaguar XK150 so when a damaged one popped up for auction at Bonhams with an estimate of 10-15K I was following it with interest.
Its just sold for 90K including premium and i'm struggling to see why apart from the coverage it got in various on-line articles www.bonhams.com/auctions/26808/lot/122/
This one for sale (which is an identical model) is only 20K more and its ready to go www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1329178
Restoring one of these properly is going to cost more than 100K if you pay someone to do it and thats without it being bent up like a banna so I don't see why this has attracted so much interest and such furious bidding.
Just curious as to what i'm missing or is it just a case of a fool and their money are easily parted?
