Got me a Polo Jeton yesterdaynight, for the magic price of 100 euro's
Mot'd till december and a faulty Headgasket! Result!
We left at 19:00 to get it and we were looking at it at 20:00, battery was hooked up to the charger so I knew it was serious trouble. Decided to take it for a spin to get some cash and try it out.
At the cash machine it wouldn't start again, so we had to push start it, which went fine. Normal people would walk away, but I decided I liked it's temperament!
paid the owner 100 euro's and off we went, allthough he had to push me away cos it died again. Decided I had to keep the revs up as the battery light came on at lower speeds.
On the first roundabout I signalled, but as the engine nearly died I decided that wasn't a good idea, the battery was really low even the ignition struggled. But it was getting darker and darker so I had to put the lights on.
When we reached the highway I noticed the petrol was low, in the red zone, and the battery was getting worse. It sputtered when I accelerated up the highway. I knew there was a petrol station about 10km's ahead so I just pushed the pedal, the more revs the better the battery lived.
when the petrol station was anounced it started to sputter badly and when I took the exit it died. I made it!
Poured 15 litres of petrol in and then we push started it again, it only made another 150 metres and then it died.
We decided the best thing we could do is drive to the lockup in the Focus, get a new battery and try again. So we did.
After that we decided it was best to park it at home, as that was only 10 mins away and then I could get some sleep. So new battery in and it ran like a dream, like it thanked me for the spanky juicy battery I put in.
I think I have a new alternator somewhere, and a HG set is ordered
Now some pics, as it was dark only the outside, haven't got the chance to get the psychedelic interior on film.
The citroen is my neighbours, it's very rotten, but very cool, I decided to park next to it so the polo and the citroen could have a chat about empty battery's and hydraulic suspension.
total hours spent 4 (x2)
euros 100 + a fillup (E23,10)
