Only very basic requests but I bought a car a couple of weeks ago on a Wednesday. I did the owner update online and the V5 came two days later on Friday. The next week I switched number plates on the car on the Friday and the upated logbook arrived the following Tuesday. I was actually quite impressed! Same experience for me, although I waiting a few months before transferring the plates. Download a form that you can take to get new plates made up.

re DVLA
I moved a registration around (retained from old car, bought a car, then reassigned to a new[er] car) all done online and documents received back in days.

Looking at the current regs on the .Gov website, any adjusting mechanism must work, but it doesn't specifically state that there must actually be a mechanism. That's kinda what my tester said if it's not there I can't test it, bit like if child seats are fitted they can't test the rear seat belts.

Is the top a little bit too long for the truck bed? It looks like it overhangs a bit but that could be the angle of the photo. In one of the images above the ribs look as if they're gold which looks good, polished aluminium and gold ribs... Yes it does overhang by a couple of inch - i guess it's because it's a universal back for the various different micro trucks - it's good in that I can put a padlock on the latches and they won't swing into the tailgate. If / when I get the back gate panelled rather than the mesh I can get a curved bottom put on to meet the top of the tailgate and echo the curve on the custom lower panel. Could you move the rear rib in a bit and cut the canopy shorter?

Even the dash, speedo etc needs to be a bit like Mini, all in one dial or similar. Digital dash would be a good way of getting everything in a small display, check out Urchfab on youtube ( www.youtube.com/channel/UCqvXGJXKeLCm6zg-JagDdzQ), he's built a Ford 1100e with a MX5 engine/suspension lots of good ideas.

There seems to be a slight difference of opinion, the only other person with an opinion seems to think all brakes should be yellow! I’ve ordered a POR-15 Caliper paint kit in silver, plenty of people rave about POR-15 so hopefully this will be as good (I did order a tin of the same in yellow to touch up the Fug brakes, so I guess if it turns out Tom is right they could turn out yellow ) I painted mine with Gold hammerite, seems to be lasting well.

Rebuilding brakes is very satisfying, I did the same as you with citric acid etc. I did paint mine though, but nor red.

Driving south on the M6 yesterday just north of Birmingham... Aston Martin DB6 MkII with 2 bikes strapped to the back! Looks like suction pads for the front forks, on an aluminium body. They weren't hanging about either.

Wiring up a ShedMiataMark

I run my shed (garden office) on effectively a hard wired extension lead, plug to a fused switch then 3 core cable to the shed. Worked fine, was using ethernet over power (PowerLine adaptors) but as the cable has deteriorated I can't get a signal in the shed. Need to rewire it properly with armoured cable run along the fence, either to a new fuse box in the garage or just a 3 pin plug.
p.s. don't do what I did and lay in a pipe under the path and leave a piece of string in to pull cable through with, then leave it a few years so the string rots away and I can't feed a cable through.

Ah - These (I think they have had reshuffle since you were last there - this pic is 2018) Just a bit, when I went it wasn't long after the Schlumpf brothers fled. In fact it was 1990 found some photos (apologies for the slight thread diversion but there is a 250F there. Would love to visit again, was a good road trip there as well non-stop from the ferry in a Citroen BX 16v.
apologies for images iPhone shots of a photo album (remember them). One of the cars is a childs car and the 250LM is there as I had a Corgi model.
I don't suppose pre-war Bugatti type 35B's count as F1.

Many years ago (~30) I visited Schlumpf museum/collection in Mulhouse and one of the most vivid memories is of the red 250F in amongst the sea of blue Bugatti's and how good it looked.

Not me or even a human, we had a dog that decided to eat a bee and got stung in the mouth. Nearly killed it (the dog) as it's throat swelled up, had to rush it to the vets for a jab. Took the vet and a nurse to pin the dog down (German Shephard) to complete the injection as it was a bit agitated.

My favourite has to be the Lotus 49B, and Graham Hill in particular, but that's already been posted. I was lucky to visit the Williams factory a few years ago (there was a conference that I only attended as it was held there), their museum is reputably one of the best collections of F1 car around, although of a single marque... Classic era, no sponsors, no spoilers (not a lot of safety...)
