That sounds like a hell of a drive there Lance.
I had thought fuel starvation but it was running fine at high revs until it faltered and then ran fine after the short stop.
The old set of points I removed were quite dirty and had a small peak so I'm wondering if the surface was breaking down and closing them up after a while so have fitted electronic ignition instead.
Proof will be in the pudding after the hour drive I'm just about to do.....Wish me luck.
Dave.

Its been a while since the last update and Fester had been tucked away for the winter but back at the start of May he came out for his last ever MOT; The last MOT by Dave Campbell, on Flickr The last MOT by Dave Campbell, on Flickr As it should it passed with flying colours. Since the MOt we have been down to the Stirling and district classic car show at Bridge of Allen; Sun Bug by Dave Campbell, on Flickr bridge of Allan show 2018 24 by Dave Campbell, on Flickr (Full set of Bridge of Allen show pics here flic.kr/s/aHsmhWjVei ) This brought up a small issue. After around one hour on the motorway there was a small missfire developing. Pulled over and nothing was hot but wouldnt re-start (I think it was flooding). Waited 5 minutes and it started fine and pulled back on the motorway and up to 60mph with no problem. Whats weirder is it did exactly the same on the way home. I will get to the bottom of this and have started with fitting an electronic ignition module so we will see how that goes. I also ran through the front brakes (shoes, cylinders, springs) and there will be a video of this to follow. Taking the car to the Volksfling show in Biggar this Sunday so if you are in the area drop by. Dave.

Found a few videos on Youtube with predictions on the future of motoring from times past. Some predictions are close and some miss the mark. Add more if you find them.

I was in Naples and then Rome last week. Here are the first lot of spots from the trip. Lots of army vehicles in both Naples and Rome; naples day 1 and 2 7 by Dave Campbell, on Flickr I saw lots of these unidentified tippers. This one having its wheel changed on the half of the zebra crossing thats not blocked by rubble sums up the mad driving style in Naples. naples day 1 and 2 35 by Dave Campbell, on Flickr Quite a few 3 wheel tippers that looked to be well overweight; naples day 1 and 2 31 by Dave Campbell, on Flickr More to follow, Dave.

Not strictly a car video but lots of car content and stuff I think folks on here will enjoy.
2017 we flew to Florida, had a few days rest at Universal studios then flew onto Atlanta GA to start our road trip of Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and back. On the way we visited car museums, film locations, train yards and more.
So here it is, I really hope you enjoy this video;
Dave.

That belonged to a guy we bought cars from in Oakland. Most of the American car pound shots were from the Oakland police auction where John bought his cars.He couldnt sell them locally as on a lot of occasions the people who lost them when they were towed would like to have them back and wouldnt always be pleasant about it so he stored anything of interest and tried to sell it out of state or abroad. When we visited in 2004 and 2010 he had at least 4 warehouses and numerous yards stuffed full of cars. Sadly he died around 2012/13 and we never found out what happened to all the cars.

I put together some of my abandoned car pictures that I have gathered over the years.
There is bound to be one in there that you would want to save so which one would you pick?
An while you are here, due to Youtube changing its rules I will ose my membership of the partner program on Feb 20th unless I hit 1000 subscribers. If you could take 2 seconds to subscribe to my channel that would be fantastic. You don't have to watch any of my other videos but if you like cars there will hopefully be other videos you will enjoy on there.
Dave.

I took Wednesday off work so that I could go to the start of the Monte Carlo Classic in Paisley this week and by pure luck, as I was walking from my bedroom to the kitchen I spotted this wee 914 going by outside; Spotted 914 by Dave Campbell, on Flickr Pics of the event are here; flic.kr/s/aHsmc2AtgnDave
