I'm quite tempted by this. How long has it been in the family? Is the mileage backed up by paper work? Anyone know a good transporter firm, it's a 9hr round trip for me.

hmm loving the look of this, what are these like for rust generally? Are main dealer parts easy to get hold of n cheap'ish or is it best left to eurocarparts and such like? The Mrs will go spare but i'll ask her anyway... Have a free bump on me...

I'll be bringing a '71 Z
Last year I turned up in it, but as I stupidly allowed the wife to bring the dog we were refused admission. I would have been happy to not going anywhere near the hill but the old guy wouldn't budge.
Just means I'm more motivated this year.

Hi All Got back from the holiday with no mishaps. Some poor bloke with a very old citroen suffered a head on collision the first day of the show. Not wanting to miss out on the activities he paid for a tow truck to take his car round must have cost a packet.. Anyway here are some clips of the journey through Switzerland, i'll add some pics of Laon Historique once my pc recovers from the amount of data it has to deal with. cheers nick

Cheers for the comments Guys.
I have just received some goodies in the post, a new windscreen rubber, oil pressure sensor and gear box seal - i've ordered a new slave cylinder for the clutch too as i don't like the look of it's rubbers currently .. hopefully that'll arrive today.
I was cleaning the car and discovered a small leak through the right hand corner of the windscreen, the seal is 41 years old and has a small split in it - i could have sealed it but thought i might as well do it properly, that'll be done tomorrow as i have a leaky van rear window to sort first (my daily driver).
A bit gutted about the gearbox seal as i've just put a good condition s14 box in the car as the original was just starting to suffer from weak synchros, pretty much went straight in with only one modification needed on the gearbox mount, well happy as no metal required cutting in the tunnel.
I shouldn't feel too miffed given how easy the swap was but just a bit of a niggle having to take the prop off again and potentially lose some nice new oil. and the having to jack it up on 12 breeze blocks to get the required height lol. (a decent ramp has been put on the chrimbo list)
When changing the box i noticed a small leak of oil from the front of the car, at first i thought it was the sump gasket but couldn't see where from, however once on my mates ramp we were able to see a small dribble coming from the oil pressure switch and it was blowing back, again the rubber has perished with age at the point the electrode comes out.
Painted my front tyres too although they are now Goodyears it looks better than not having anything on them given the rear Dunlops were painted.
My favourite bit though has to be my new gear stick cover, the original was absolutely knackered when i took it off, it looked okay in situ but when it was straightened out it had holes all over the place. Went to Krych trimming in Bristol who made a new one following the old as a template and a perfect match in texture. Obviously the wife would have preferred a cheaper alternative but that wouldn't have done the car any justice.
The icing on the cake though has to be re threading the Z gear knob so that the alloy insert would fit the thicker gear stick. well happy with that and that turned out to be the most annoying part of all this, as i really struggled to get the thing to cut it's thread straight at first.
Not much left now really apart from just to use it and get the miles on it before the trip starts.
Will try and get some more pics up soon, probably when I waxoyl the underneath of it.
Cheers Nick ;D

Had the first drive of the year at the weekend, can't believe i was thinking of selling her.
Have her booked in for a rolling road session for April (earliest i could get) as i think the 3rd carb is slightly over fueling. Have gone to town a bit on the Laon Historique trip by adding Reims, Lake Como, Stelvio pass, Liechtenstein and some other route into the mix. (not in order lol)
Will definitely have to take some pics and get a video of the trip sorted out, basically following the Italian job route at the beginning of the film when the Miura met with it's demise and then going all over the place.
Which bring me to my next point, has anyone got any experience of in car cameras, any recommendations etc?
Cheers Nick
