This exact car...it's crazy to me that a youtube video can be 11 years old and I saw it when it was fresh
I went on to own a plethora of mk2 golfs/jettas and still need to scratch the mk1 itch properly.

1. Audi A3 with the 3.2 and quattro, amazing value though are probably riddled with issues xD 2. Skoda Fun pickup 3. Focus ST3 though finding a non-chavved, non lairy coloured one isn't too easy and realistically, I'd like my next 3k'er to be a suzuki samurai with all the kit.

I have a fancy for an A2 if only for the fact they're aluminium bodied and a little bit different. We have possibly the cheapest road legal coupe gt in the country and it really shows in person but it's a great machine, such a solid car as VW's of that era were. I'd have a more stout Audi of that era (a quattro etc) if I didn't have my Datsun for sure. I'm tempted to buy the audi from clo when she fancies something different but that'll not happen for a while. I have one gripe, why was it only a 3 speed auto!? why not 4?!

I would buy one if it wasn't so expensive as it would go veeeery well wrapped in orange with our gen 1 civic. That and I have watched Harry's review of an EV recently to be disgruntled at the charging system being so stupid for non-teslas which I would have to use every time I went to visit my dad as the range on that car isn't big enough for that trip.

I was kind of gutted it finished at 3.4, would have been more fitting to finish at 3.5 given the sales history

10 years for me looks a little something like this : Bought off this forum from portsmouth area for £265 (can you tell?) Now (two images are placeholders as I don't have pictures to hand, bought from all over the place for a heck of a lot more than £265 in most cases) :

We’re still here and the Audi is still going strong. A long while back I think I posted that the alternator bearings were shot. That made the car quite noisy generally outside of the lifter tick which I guess is the next thing to do. Here’s a sound bite, you can hear the bearings just as the car pulls in and switches off. I was going to get the original one refurbished but Clo needed the car to flit back and forth in. It’s charging and working quietly as it should now.

Browsing instagram, as you do, I found this... I need to do more research to find out if it's proper twin tyre style or just similar to van/lorry setup. insane, for more reasons than just the wheels xD

I got three road and track mags from different months in 1975. I can't believe there's an add in there where a ferrari is cheaper than a bmw that at the time was only a couple of months old, the ferrari now worth more than a million crazy, the same can't be said for the BMW of course.
Outside of that I always ask for cash because friends and family simply don't know what I need as none of them are in any way shape or form knowledgeable of tools or cars, which results in me usually (including this year) receiving yet another copy of the generic "100 best classic cars" or a car calendar which ends up in a charity shop as they feature cars I'm not interested in and the photography is utter buncom.
I bought a tap and die set with what I was given this year.

16 in 9 years of driving, not including bikes and have slowed down to swapping cars once a year (not because of MOT - just because I like water changes)
