Ignore it, the DVLA have no right to fine you ad VIP said, its merely an invoice.
I had it a few years back, lots of threatening letters etc, then a collection agency who were promptly told where they should go and that was the end of it

Err, the sump is off and being shortened, the front springs have been replaced with Imp rears with new seats as they are a smaller diameter
That's currently where I'm at, no time to do anything at the minute. I should be able to grab a days work next week so I'm hoping the have her say back on her wheels then...
140 days till the gathering

I'd get a nice comfy LS400 or summat
3000 miles at 30mpg is roughly £600 in proper fuel and at 50mpg is roughly £380 in crude oil, that's a grand saving of £55 each over 5 months
I know which was i'd be swaying

My next project WILL be to take one of these Knackered Jago Jeep ![http://imagehosting.rodsnsods.co.uk/36404deb6db997ea9.jpg](http://imagehosting.rodsnsods.co.uk/36404deb6db997ea9.jpg) And one of these in rusted guise ![http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k549/pete924/Cappuccino/20110123Stripped.jpg](http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k549/pete924/Cappuccino/20110123Stripped.jpg) Pull all the subframes off the Cappo and mount them on the Jago chassis, use the Cappo engine as its a cracking little unit and end up with something along these lines ![http://cdn2.sulitstatic.com/images/2012/1117/040728757_04024369466ffa490133a58e1171eac942c2c8260e4059a1a.jpg](http://cdn2.sulitstatic.com/images/2012/1117/040728757_04024369466ffa490133a58e1171eac942c2c8260e4059a1a.jpg) Fibreglass body, great handling suspension setup, revvy little turbo charged engine, rwd What more could I want Don't no one go stealing my idea now...

But Mitsubishi´s Pajero doesn´t have a different name in Spain, does it? ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) They are sold under a different name in Spain, can't remember what though. The Kia Picanto had to be renamed for sale in Portuguese-speaking markets, as 'Picanto' translates as 'singing penis' in Portuguese! Pajero (or at least a Spanish word that sounds similar) means w@nker in Spanish, which is deemed very offensive, akin to us driving an Austin C**t

The Reliant Scimitar GTE was the first ever car to have split folding rear seats Think I'd dispute that - the Imp Californian was launched in '67 and has split-fold rear seats. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I raise you the split folding rear seats in my '55 Standard Eight, how else would you get in the 'boot' Folded right up against the fronts ![http://www.aronline.co.uk/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Standard-Eight-Boot.jpg](http://www.aronline.co.uk/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Standard-Eight-Boot.jpg) And just look how happy this rear seat passenger is to be surrounded by luggage ![http://www.philseed.com/files/images/stand-eight53-int.jpg](http://www.philseed.com/files/images/stand-eight53-int.jpg)

You can get 2k Matt Lacquer, I've used it on a few occasions to turn gloss cars matt and I can't remember them getting marked or showing dirt, though it has been a while since I've used it... This was first painted in Glasurit high gloss black as it was all I had in stock, so a less than ideal base for a matt car, a few coats of the matt lacquer sorted it out ![](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/2002gimp/RatRod/PICT0832.jpg)

The bolts are there just for location, they're only M6. Once in steel I'll fire up the blue glue and get them permanently together.
I appear to be very lucky that the callipers lined up perfectly with the old backplate mount.
The prob is with the herald is you'd need the hub from a standard or early herald unless its drum already?

As with everything, once you start, you find more work. She had drums all round, 7inchers no less. Discs are the way to go; see what's available, herald ones fit with a custom calliper mount which are £120ish, plus the price of new hubs (discs bolt to back of hub), new discs and callipers. So I needed something different, in comes the huge! 232mm vented disc and callipers from an MGF as its the same pcd. £11 for a new disc, £23 for a pair of used callipers and £20 for a pair of custom cut calliper mounts, so £65 all in for massively overkill brakes. Brakes all mocked up now, 8mm acrylic cuts easy and is strong enough to hold the callipers ![](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/2002gimp/temporary_zps377a8578.jpg) ![](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/2002gimp/temporary_zps3d317023.jpg) ![](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/2002gimp/temporary_zps1a318cb1.jpg) ![](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/2002gimp/temporary_zps19094da8.jpg) ![](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/2002gimp/temporary_zps3aee4650.jpg) Now I'm happy it all fits I can get them laser cut in steel

I have them and I once did dragged a cappuccino shell, on its side, on a home made frame, down my block paved driveway by myself. Yes they catch on the odd rut, but its easy to rectify

Not sure why big power = better feed? Or power adjustment for that matter
I'm saying don't get hung up on POWER!!111!!!
Most (especially cheaper - op is talking £200 here) ones that do big amps don't go low enough

Yes to the eurotorch, no to high amps for bodywork, yes its nice to be able to blast 5+ mm together, but you do it so little and can normally get to both sides anyway
I'd be wanting to go as low as possible with the amps, mine does 15 which is nice...

Nice looking Pajero that, I've had one of these MK1's, excellent and underated next to the same era Land Cruisers etc Apparently the reason why the 'Pajero' was sold as the 'Shogun' in the UK was that 'Pajero' means 'Prairie' in Spanish and it was first sold in the UK at the time of the Falklands war, so they renamed it for our market! GLWS Ian Pajero in Spanish means W@nker, which is deemed exceptionally offensive over there, hence the name change for the Euro market

More headlining. Did a trial fit, it works, now I need to sew in the tensioning cords down the sides so I can get it nice and tight. I'm going to remake this at some point without putting the joins in so its seamless as the patten really shows up the joins ![](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/2002gimp/temporary_zpsd6da2ec8.jpg) ![](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/2002gimp/temporary_zps490143d2.jpg) Next up, address the sump issues, the engine mounts sit on the subframe so first I had to suspend the engine. ![](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/2002gimp/temporary_zpsae7d5da0.jpg) Then drop the subframe ![](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/2002gimp/temporary_zps5f9016d_edit_1391356975757_zpssvuiwwzj.jpg) ![](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/2002gimp/temporary_zpsb7342fd_edit_1391357116731_zpseg7qm3je.jpg) End of play today, ready to pull sump and get a new one laser cut ![](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/2002gimp/temporary_zps2fc23a9_edit_1391356783236_zpsxbkomswk.jpg)
