2nd of August! Made some cover plates for the old roll bars, easier to leave the bottom part of them in. Had to add a bar to the cage for the harness to attach to 13 days and counting

I drove 75 miles there on the Friday in the rain (you remember the rain right) I have no roof... Or windscreen My engine was fired up and tested at 10pm on the Thursday, very roughly timed and tuned badly! I couldn't rev past 3k ish and she spent the journey spraying boiling fluids out the rad. I then drove the 75 miles home, no rain this time. But around 10 miles into the journey the exhaust snapped at the manifold and launched the rear of the car into the air, then my mate drove over it. So now I had to do 60 odd miles with a deafening noise, even less power and more boiling spitty water Loved every second of it!

31st July It's August tomorrow, we're entering proper deadline territory now Another evening of fixing vans, fitting clutches, turbos and welding the awful things. Only got a little done, but it was done well Used the MX5 seat base as the car already had the holes in the right place to fit them. Made up some thick plates to line up with the mounts on the new plastic, waterproof seat. All mounted up 15 days and counting

Now the Scamp was placed in my mates unit (he's a genuine hero, helped me with everything and gave up loads of his time) This was both good and bad, the good part was we had the space and could make noise until late, the bad was the car being away from my home and family, which meant I could only go every few days. Started on the tear down 3 days after collection She was built very well, think I got rsi from drilling out an actual thousand rivets Alloy roof sides were sacked off revealling the framework Heavy steel roof removed End of play 27 days and counting

I wanted a car for the Gathering I bought a car 30 days before the Gathering I altered pretty much everything I made it to the Gathering! I came across this Scamp on a random eBay browse, she ticked all my boxes, except the convertable one, no worries, I can sort that. Lets run through the spec 998cc A-Series, currently over heating Roof - gopping Colour - grim Seats - Mx5 jobbies, alright actually, not particulary waterproof mind Wheels - Slots, everyone loves slots. These have a comical offset though, so will have to go 30 days and counting

Another recomendation from me
Not only good value (quote was competitive and included breakdown and the RR discount)
Staff were friendly, knew what the crack was and didn't pressure anything.
Can't fault them

How have people not got dashcams in this day and age?
You can get them for £20 or so

Are you fussed what this is used for?
I mean would you weant it to go and help out someone who needs it, or would you be ok with someone who thinks it should have more petrol in in?

I figured i'd take the rotten front wings off as I have fibreglass replacements coming. It will give me better access to the a-panel rot (the P4 always goes here, such a bad design.) and to the suspension the cut the springs. Ah, turns out you need to open the doors wide to remove a panel, arsehats. She currently doesnt move, distinct lack of wiring you see. One £60 self present later This is a thing now. No coolant in there and the carb is losing all its fuel out the bottom, but hey...

With inner arch panels that expensive you might as well buy some oil drums and tub it really. I was going to do this, but you may be able to see the huge boot hinges, counter springs and random brackets that mould into the inner arch like only a British engineer would think is ok :/

I did something! My garage is far too small for this car, I have about 50 cm down one side to do anything. I opened the boot and started to look at the welding and panel creation needed in there. The inner arches are none existant and the repair panels come to £640 So I closed the boot and did this instead 2.5 inches
