you wouldnt regret it dude, The way i look at it is. I'm saving like 100quid a month in fuel bills, near a grand insurance a year, couple of hundred in tax. and getting to ride a bike thats fun And lasts forever... Theres not alot of bikes that can do that for £500

True, the GN is a few glitches at the moment which I'm gradually getting fixed. Agreed on the fuel saving though, I'm spending a 1/4 per month compared to running my last car (which was a 1.1 Cinq) ;D

Cub looks great, and atleast as a 90 itll have some pull too. Not all chinese bikes are curse word, my mate has a 2008 RMR125 (Suzuki GS125 rep engine), and its been pretty reliable. All that we've had to replace is the voltage regulator. Standard it did 65, and with a re-jet, and £30 Yoshi rep 'silencer' and a few other tweaks, we've had it at 76mph on GPS. Next step is a 26mm carb and a few teeth off the rear sprocket- 80mph easy

Blimey, might be worth talking to them directly with that list and ask f there's any discount available for bulk buying. ;D They've picked up some business via RR so they might offer some money off if you ask. Did I read somewhere that you fitted a 'performance' air filter to he Puch?

Decision made then gent, it's a pity but there come's a time when you have too much & not enough time/space etc. Out of interest, what airfilter have you got on there?

Ah right, toying with the idea of getting a 'performance' (ue that word loosely) for the GN. Hearing mixed reviews about 'em, some say there make a difference others say they're an 'instant rebore kit' & fug the engine.

For the gn id be supprised if you notice any difference. The valves are quite small on commuter bikes and alot of effort goes into making everything work well together. For example changing the air filter on a c90 actually makes it slower lol.
It wouldnt fug the engine though. Unless your blasting the airfilter with sand all day.
A foam filter would filter very well (appart from when wet) and a mesh filter will filter alot of the curse word but the smaller items may get through... But then they will be so small it wouldnt cause any problems... What ones you looking at for it? Got a link?

Here's the type I'm looking at; www.patternparts.net/p-Suzuki_GN_125_Power_Air_Filter_%2839mm%29_94_01-4699.aspxI was chatting to a local bike shop & the guy who runs it said that most modern learner legal stuff is restriccted via the air system, i.e the air flow is 'restricted' & added a filter like this allows the engine to get air much faster. I didn't really see how it would make any odds to be honest,

To be fair your GN is old enough that they wouldnt have done that.
It probably isnt restricted at all. Its just a commuter bike so isnt very fast. Small valves, Small carb for efficiency and economy, Same as my 90 realy...
The little 50cc scoots and things are restricted though. But thats more cdi controlled.
That said thats a nice little filter. Cant do it any harm... But cant see it helping either.. Imho.. Appart from making it a little louder when you open it up. ;D

Haha, cool. I'm not planning anything on the test front until the better weather kicks in next year, which should give me time to get the theory test out of the way.
