Inspired by gofasterpinch's design thread, I thought I'd get a lot more of my older work online - most of this was done whilst I was still at school. Clicky for the album - in the meantime, here's a few tasters: The underlay / reference for the Tucker was a proper colour pic, but the Riley came from a tiny black & white pic (so much of the detail etc including the wire wheels, had to be recreated) which is why some of the reflections in the chrome aren't as detailed. This painting was then done from the Riley, as a birthday present for dad, since it used to be his car: As and when I have time / can find the drawings, I hope to add to this album. Enjoy!

That really is nice work, very impressed! To say the details such as the spokes on thw wire wheels are improvised, its very very good indeed!

Thanks guys! ever thought of selling your services to us? I'd love some paintings of my cars. Dave - I guess that I could do commissions, but it can take a full day or so to do a detailed A2 & that's just a marker & pastel / pencil rendering - the painting took much longer, so it's difficult to find time now that I'm working. Are you going to be at CARS? If so, I'll bring some of the originals along & we could discuss then. A simpler one (like the first two in the album) is much quicker - I used to do loads of A4 sized ones for a friend who loved aircooled VWs, but sadly I don't have copies.... That really is nice work, very impressed! To say the details such as the spokes on thw wire wheels are improvised, its very very good indeed! Those wires were a nightmare, which is why I left them off the profiles!! The originals didn't have them on either - iirc, they were just line drawings in a book / brochure. I really must get around to doing some more soon as it's been years since I last did one! ;D

Gorgeous on all parts! I feel pretty shady considering I'm an Art student but can no way do that. Love the 3rd from bottom ink drawing.

That was one of my first marker pen renderings, I used colouring pencils, gouche and my prefered weapon of choice, a biro too.
I'm a bit annoyed because a lot of my artwork was thrown away when I moved away from home. I never went to parties and chatted up girls - I stayed in my bedroom listening to indie music and drawing old scrappers.....

there is some nice work in this thread Most of my art A-level project was spent drawing local abandoned cars ;D I don't have any retro work with me at uni, in the first year i spent quite alot time coping the 70's/80's renders in the Auto styling magazines. All i have to show is this, done yesterday whist bored of course work:

Don't forget to go ratching in the woods for acorns with your handbag! Is Tony Hart still alive? I used to love watching his programme. I sent him a pic of a made-up car that I drew when I was about 10, annoyingly it got torn when i was fighting with my sister, still sent it anyway, b******s to it. Never got on telly for some reason.
