I picked this up late last year, with the intention of turning it in to a road legal track day toy, unfortunately the MOT threw up a few issues in December but a lot of work on it over the last couple of weeks and a fair few modifications mean it should be going through an MOT tomorrow! This is how it started: The interior was stripped out and we've fitted a couple of seats and a roll cage designed for an Evo 1, fortunately it was a very close fit, with just some plating of the floor required to make it fit: The work/modifications to date are as follows: - Refurbished calipers - New disks - New pads - Braided hoses - 17" x 7.5J Rota Torques - D2 coilovers - Modified aftermarket Evo 1 front strut brace - Cobra Clubman bucket seats on modified Peugeot 106 runners - Sabelt harnesses - Cusco Evo 1 roll cage (floor plated and bolted in) - Cat removed - OMP boss - OMP replica steering wheel When purchased it already had: - Evo 3 turbo - Walboro 255lph fuel pump - Fuel pressure regulator - 510cc injectors The following items are still to be added: - Tubular intake manifold - 40L fuel tank (to be installed in the boot) - Oil Temp, Oil Pressure & Boost gauges - DIN slot Once the car passes the MOT, it's going to need a bit of a shakedown to see how all of the modifications, stiffening and lowering have worked together while it's been off the road.

That is flipping brilliant! Will be a nice different choice for on Track and it looks superb.
I believe these are 4wd.

Thanks, it's 4WD & 4WS.
The engine's a 4G63T, pretty much the same as in the Evo 1-3.
There's a lot of tidying to be done, the main thing was to get it back on the road.

ahh that will be a beast, way more origional for the track than just buying an evo. i remember being put off a slighty newer one because of the front wheel drive i wonder why they changed it.

Cheers, it may need a clutch but we're hoping that by lightening it we may have extended its life, at least until work begins on the engine. The target is a safe 400bhp with a similar torque figure. I'm in 2 minds with the bodywork, keeping it as is with a bit of a sleeper look, it's solid but very flat and tatty or to tidy it all up......

i like the idea of it being scruffy i think. it makes it look more agressive, like beards... id love to experience a safe 400bhp haha, easily 3 times what ive ever been in control of.

The VR-4 is now road legal once again, having passed its MOT earlier today. This weekend will be a chance to get a few miles under its belt so that we can dial in the suspension.

I like this a lot. I have one that I'm perfecting and will be on the road in april its a 1988 VR4 anniversary edition in black. I see you have the 1990 RS with out all the mod cons not even a clock. these are so rare now. I'm glad theres another avid fan of these cars out there in the UK. PM me...

Yep no mod cons at all, ideal for my purposes. It doesn't even have a means of adjusting the mirrors from inside the car, it's simply a case of pushing the mirror glass to suit! Back to windy windows and no aircon and no central locking.
