What pcd patterns are on the wheels you cant use anymore? ford/pug 108 and?
Progress looks good but scary! My g26 has a sierra rear end, dunno if thats what you are calling an atlas one? might have been easier?

You end up with a lot of Nissan parts in that Ginetta!
Can't wait for the next update.

The wheels are 4x108 and 4x100, fingers crossed I can exchange them with the original seller for 5x114.3 instead, although the offset will go from 25 to 35. Yeah the Sierra rear was an option but tbh given the plethora of RWD Nissans quite capable of running 300,400,500 bhp with little modification and the aftermarket support its a no brainer really. The Atlas is the more common axle and was fitted to the Capris. I'm slowly trying to swap out all the ford parts for Nissan parts purely down to how easy they are to get hold of and how much better they perform. Also as much as possible I would like to get consistent parts on the car rather than having everything coming from a different donor. I am now going to have an s14 engine, gearbox, diff, subframe, rear suspension, hubs, front brakes, master cylinder, r33 Skyline rear brakes. Only ford parts are the windows and doors, front suspension arms will be bespoke, coilovers will be bespoke. Ive also been looking at the use of E34 front lights on this volvo but need to get the mechanicals sorted first!

Progress continues! After some deliberation I now have an S15 subframe which supposedly has slightly better geometry than the s14 subframe although nobody really knows We have also fitted solid bushes to cut down on movement between the subframe and the chassis. Errr this happened which puts the subframe here today we have collected rear arms, hubs, diff and shafts from an S14 and I also have 4 pot front brakes from an S15 with I think 280mm discs. They might be alloy calipers but I haven't really looked too much. Steel is now on order to rebuild the rear chassis

Just trying to get the position right for the subframe, wheel is only for mockup but is the right overall diameter including tyre, it is loosely bolted to the rear hub.

I'm liking the way this car is turning out. Your front seat set up must be the same awkward setup I have with the wide tunnel and cortina frames?
I'm stuck what seats to get, have you got a solution?
Cheers

Cheers Thanks! I have been jealous of your G15 for a long time now! Re seats, the solution is going to be cutting a hole in the tunnel and providing new mounting points. This image is the right sort of area Its the step in the floor before it goes into the proper tunnel that is the problem. Depending on where the seat positions fall we might run some sort of cross brace between the rails that picks up the inboard mounting points... not sure we haven't quite got that far yet! Seats definitely wont be mounted 6" up in the air though like the standard ones were! Couple more pictures of the subframe positioning: Its difficult to picture it but the top of the subframe mounting points are roughly flush with the previous floor height. The rear end is going to be built out of new metal over the coming week! I have had some success with the wheels and managed to exchange them with the seller for 5x114.3 PCD instead and an offset of et35 rather than 25. This should mean that they sit "just" inside the arches so we can preserve the original bodywork. The car has now been off the road for around 5.5 years! Hopefully it will be all done before it gets to 6!

Well, they say good things come to those who wait. Fingers crossed for ya, I know exactly how frustrating it can be for a project to take so long It's looking very very promising though

Thanks I'm not 100% on the steel sizing, the existing rails are 75x50 so imagine they'll match up. Rear end is now (almost) all welded up but for the rear crash bars.

I wonder how many people spent £99 on a sun roof instead of glavanising the chassis for the same price!

Sorry! Here's some pictures! The rear steel is now pretty much done. The garage are pushing on to get it back onto its wheels so that they can use the Jig for other projects. So at the moment the focus is being spent on the front suspension geometry which means I don't have many pretty pictures to share On the plus side, we should have a rolling chassis by Christmas! Fingers crossed.

Looking good. I've decided on mine that I want to move the arches closer to the wheels rather than lower the car. At its current height I can just get on my drive no chance on my dad's and catches some speed bumps near me.that looks great closing the gap up!

Thanks we will be running a minimum of 100mm from the lowest point of the car, that is the max height for speed bumps and my lotus runs around quite happily at 110mm so should be okay

Okay I have been a little slow on updates recently but this is a good one... Early Christmas present arrived today Its a holset Hy35 with a 10cm T3 turbine housing. 4" intake with 2.5" outlets Its good for 500bhp+ but I'm limited to around 350bhp-400bhp as I just have a stock engine (originally rated for about 160bhp!) That should translate to roughly 1bar boost whereas the turbo really wants to be about 1.5bar+ It should still be pretty good though. The garage that are working on the car say Holsets are just for trucks but from all the research I have done this should be a really good unit so we have a bit of a running bet on it.
