Hiya, I have been lurking in your forum for a few weeks and thought I might as well introdue myself. I have always found retro motors a lot cooler than modern and I went and bought an 1982 Allegro of E-bay a few months ago for the grand sum of £100, I will post it in the readers rides section when I have taken some decent piccies of it, I still have not washed it since I bought it been too busy fixing it If all goes according to plan I hope to be going to the Retro cars day at Santa Pod, judging by all the people from here going there should be some quality cars present!

Hello! I hope the Allegro is brown, sicky green or hearing-aid beige in colour, clearly the best retro colours available on those! ;D

Thank you for the warm welcome, the All-Aggro is Turqoise in colour the shade you see a lot of bubble shape Rover 200's in. It's a 1.3 HL and being an A-series lump has a fair bit of tuning potential, I am toying with the idea of dropping either a hot 1380 or a turbo motor out of a metro in it, just a case of finding the right engine cheap enough. The cool thing is that the previous keeper has put the leather interior out of a Vanden Plas model in it complete with picnick tables ;D I've also put a sports steering wheel on it complete with a British Leyland center cap, it means I can't see any of the dials anymore but still it looks a lot cooler

Hello and welcome The aggro sounds cool, what about a K, R, O or M series engine transplant? That would be entertaining ;D

Great retro colour! How about a lump from an 820 Turbo?! (T-Series?). I like your idea of an MG Metro Turbo engine - that'd raise a few eyebrows at the Traffic Light Grand PrixTM!
