Had the monza bokked in for its MOT at 9.30 today. Just had a couple of things I needed to do before that. Went for petrol at 8am (nearest to me is 7mile), came back topped it up. Then had to move my mates mazda MX-5 and my BMW 635 out of my yard to be able to get the monza out of my garage.
Battery flat on the mazda Got my jump starter started it moved it.
Battery also dead on the BMW jump starter not enough to start it so had to take the battery of the monza to start the 635. Got it started then it ran out of petrol got some more petrol got it started moved that battery, back off and on the monza.
Brought the monza out the garage quickly washed it to clean all the dust off it. Then took it down the road just to clean brakes up a bit as it hasnt been on th eroad for a long time.
Feels like a piston sticking on passenger front calliper so stamp on the pedal a bit then it sinks to the floor
Pull it back on the drive and notice that the pushrod that goes in the handbrake master cylinder has come out circlip cant have been in the groove fully. Put it back together check it and all fine. 9:10 quickly flee to the MOT station and get there just in time.
Failed the MOT Broken front spring, both rear springs broken, wiper blades need replacing and condensation on the inside of the drivers side headlamp affecting the beam. curse word
Ask if I can get it sorted today will he retest it, he says `Look I normally knock off at one but if you can get it done by 2 I will test it today` Top bloke
Flee home and its now 10:30. I have a spare set of monza springs (gotta love ebay £5 ) Jack up the front stand a halogen heater in front of the headlamp and take the bulbs off. Strut off fit new spring old one looks to be a fresh break and I think it did it on the way to the MOT station. Strut back on. Back jacked up rear springs out lost a quarter of a coil of both sides. Inspect the spring seats and they look very solid which I am surprised at. New springs in (lowered ones, again from ebay) wheels on drop it. Check the time 11:50 ;D
Phone the MOT fella and he tells me to bring it down for 12:30.
Front headlamp is now demisted fit new wiper blades and back down to the test station.
Monza now MOT`ed ;D ;D
Then get home and find one of german shepherds has gashed its leg open exposing the bone so had to rush out again. He`s being operated on now so waiting for the vet to phone and let me know whats happening
