A Twin Turbo 300ZX Engine would sort that head gasket problem right out ;D Yes, I know, but the wiring and prices of VG30DETT's scare me. A lot. I got a price for a VG30DE (Quadcam N/A) engine, loom and ECU and the chap wanted £700.. I can repair this for less than that and not have insurance headaches. My Insurance is very very cheap on this car as it stands

Should be ok for parts, have got a new oil pump and lifters from Rock Auto and can get gaskets and waterpump, thermostat ect in the UK. Going to get the heads pressure checked again because I am unsure why they are weeping and leaking oil externally. Suffice and sadly to say, I don't think whoever did the heads last time did a particularly good job. The number of loose bolts and bathroom silicone I have found so far is worrying, but it does not put me off, just makes me want to make sure it goes back together A1 perfect. I want this car to be just right, as I freaking love it! Car phone ;D How easy was it to fit? Soooo easy. Earth wire, 12 volt permanent, airel on the rear screen, module under the seat and the handset on the console, bang, done! Winning! ;D

I used to use 120Y radiator hoses for the right angled hose near the themostat!
BTW i used to get these cars with 150k on them lifers clacking away becuase nobody had serviced the thing. Tip couple of litres of diesel in the engine oil and the lifters would shut up in a few minutes. then drain, flush , and new oil and they'd be alright usually.

Glad your getting on with it Yea, sorry dude, will get on that tomorrow and price it up for you, literally every free second at work at the moment is spent on Nissan-ing. Looking smart bud. You realise you'll want to respray the engine bay if you keep going on like this Super cool! Naw, just needs a TFR and wash when the engine is rebuilt. Looks a bit grimy from a million-liters-a-minute oil leak from the head.. ;D really cracking on with it now dude! and LOL at the radiator! And £1.49 a tin? hmm might have to pop over on the way home tomorrow. If you stick the kettle on, ill bring some biscuits, deal? Ahh, not in work today! Am in Saturday though? Will text yah..

Well, had a call from BAC who are doing the heads.. They were warped so have been skimmed. The lovely guy there is also fully cleaning them and fitting new stem seals. All for less than £100. Bargain in my books! They will be back with me monday (although he did say they were ready today, lol) so work can re-commence!

Its true. I have hands of meat. Well. Who else could do this?! Don't ask cause I don't wanna talk about it! ;D Anyway. This gave me an excuse to do something I wanted to do anyway. Fit a Z31 VG30E motor. Should be pulling that out of B8D's 300ZX tomorrow. Plan will be to rebuilt that engine with my rebuilt heads, and other new gubbins. Without snapping any major components. Old motor out completely.. VAST engine bay.. ..big enough for a grinning buffoon. Also picked my recored rad up.. Looks better than new! (not that it looks it in that pic ) In other news, I found that this: works perfectly with my current(ish) model Sony head unit. So i'll be chucking this on the steering column shorud. But I'll do it well, as every car I have ever seen with one of these looks like Mr Wonder put it there, with spray mount ;D More news when I have it.

Oh no! I hate that feeling when you break something critical / expensive / unobtainable - I've done that before. Great to see you turn a bad situation into a positive one though! This car is well worth the effort. Keep at it mate!
