MG Rover ZT-T 190, a future retro classic

As someone who owned a ZT190 ( Starlight Silver) a few years ago, i can honestly say that there are not many other cars in its price bracket that will give you more grins per mile.
The acceleration can be quite viscious, i could get the wheels chirping hitting second very easily. Its handling was fantastic for a car of its size and what the engineers achieved by reworking and restyling a 75 to create something totally different was nothing short of remarkable.
In saying all of this, the car was, perhaps, not quite as spacious inside as you would think but that would be the only critisism i could label the car with, everthing about it was, for me, so right.
I think, now MG Rover is no more, the ZT will become a "cult" car a lot sooner than it would have.
I would not hessitate to recommend this car as a good alternative to a Beemer, i think its better actually.

I've seen pictures of a 'Rover Riley' - similar to that 75 coupe but with the old style nose - don't know whether they actually built it or whether it was computer generated, but it was dark blue.

BMW still own the Riley name anyway, don't they?

That's the one I'm thinking of (it was in Auto Express) - I think it was just a computer generated pic though; & yes, BMW do still own the Riley marque.

I thought they called the V8 Rover 75, Vitesse.
I already have a stonkingly quick rear drive Rover! The original and the best, the SD1 Vitesse!
