Favorite build on here! Still after a 240z? My build? a simlpe tidy, (waiting for more money for next stage!) and i think the camera is kind to the car. Your thread however, is like a good film! I swore outloud and there were happy, sad and scared emotions! I wish i could remember to take pics too, ive just got pics of finished cars One day i want to work for a mag, so i need to sort my forgetting camera issue out! I look out for 240s all the time, the prices seem all over the shop but I hope to grasp one at some point.

Ive seen it now! Nice, its going to work well, cult car cult wheels. Ive wounded one of mine, realy need to get it done as I'm embarased to go to shows now! I was looking at these pics today, and aside from BBS E50 I think it would be hard to find better wheels to suit it. Both cars need nothing more imo. I think the 944 just takes it with the contrast in body colour but they're both damn fine examples of what was right with the 80's.

Yo Gav, nice to see my old "curse word to rea" REA is my wife and was out of town for me to reshell Gav's shiney black into a crusty old "nonsunroof" shell I had. I've never been forgiven...but she's a girl so.. Anyway, I remember C5 BTR with a punchy 3ltr 16V conversion.. Idea was to see how the basic lump behaved before turbo surgery... Sell it back to me as its a good platform lol. Looks stunning BTW....hence the wife has never forgiven me lol... Yeah and don't be a stranger...

Hello Dave! Been round this week but you were not there, (ive got some rear calipers for you) The only difference between this and your new shell is a paint job, tell Rea to pay for a respray and all will be OK See you soon

No mate, no longer for sale. It was for sale for 4 months, had about 500 emails and calls, but nobody even looked at the car. Got fed up, withdrew ads... Also have a decent job now, so don't need to get rid as before. Plus I'm at pod sunday.

I had actually borrowed my housemate's Peugeot 107 whilst I wait for a couple of parts, and yes I am very cool indeed.
Selling it soon though sadly, it's not getting the use it deserves so I'm going to go down the route of giving a VW a severe stick battering again.

You will always want another jag.. thats why I'm keeping one I don't need, cos il just buy another..
Now then, the 944 engine has the crank timing mark on the fly wheel, this is not clever, as the flywheel is big. Basicaly it can be a tooth out on the belt and both marks will still line up, its not very precise as the flywheel turns so much slower than the cam pulley.
I just replaced the cambelt as ive no idea of the mileage ive done on it and want to start again.. , I decided to remove the balance belt also, common thing - I cant feel any difference, quieter and less likely to come off/snap and fight with the timing belt....(ive seen this happen twice) When I put it back together I must have got the crank 1 tooth different to before as its a lot quicker - how cool is that?
Now I'm off to finish my speaker thing.. may even paint my new bumper later

Result on the timing issue! I found the timing mark position strange and a little awkward when rebuilding my engine - it would be even worse with the engine in the car like yours is. Interesting that you have removed the balance shaft belt too, I've hurd of people doing it however I don't know anyone with any direct experience until now. It will be good to see how you get on with it. That damage on the alloy would have really annoyed me too I hope you get it all shiney for the pod

Thanks james, I hope the wheel will be fine when I finish it. As I use the car every day and it lives in the street on a traveller estate it has got a bit scruffy, few dings and light scratches. Cutting shelf about, part way through I Cut the armrest from the rear seat, cleaned aera, used the original speaker wires from rear speakers int the qtrs (they reached uncut)
