Wasn't aware of any 'Domestic' issues at Grizz towers. Hope you both come through it ok. Now have you finished that fuel pump yet??? Thread here....... retrorides.proboards.com/thread/163806/star-brand-replica-retro-buildMay 2014 it was completed. Been pressure cleaning the deck, furniture and repairing and painting all the stuff. While waiting for paint to dry today I also applied the stickers I had made this week by a mate on the body of the dummy pump. Other side...... I still need to draw up the design and hand paint the Belisha beacon. But am procrastinating.

Sorry to hear about your situation Grizz. At least you parting on amicable terms. It's still enjoyable to read your various threads even through this difficult phase of your life. Chin up buddy. Thank you mate. Realistically been there the last three years, I just hoped it would recover. Wasn't aware of any 'Domestic' issues at Grizz towers. Hope you both come through it ok. Now have you finished that fuel pump yet??? I think we do too. My skip treasure finds are now curtailed ..... Have been told i can't drive skip wagons for a living anymore,( since back operation,my back cant take it ...) Now drive an 8 wheel tipper ....... So get loads of mud! Glad you've recovered enough to go back to work. Is that a grab wagon you're driving now? Working is good. Hope you recover fully.

And went to the lawn as I was too lazy to make a propped sandbag to shape the steel on. I once formed an inner wheelarch for my mate's P6 Rover using the very same method. It worked a treat but his Mum did wonder where the dent in her lawn came from.

Not exactly a tip treasure, but if I hadn't taken it away,I am pretty sure that's where it would have landed up ! Needs a new tyre. New blade and the guides are.... Well used? Plan is new blade and fabricate new ball bearing guides. Have ordered new urethane tyres from the states. Got one small woodworm job to do with it,and then plan is to rip it's gizzards out , beef up the frame, drop the revs and convert to metal cutting

Sorry. But free money....... Two nests of three cases each. Someone put out for refuse guys today 1/2 mile from home. I Saw them on way to work and turned around at next intersection, went back. Knocked on door. Guy said they were used once for trip to America. Never going again. Suits me. Good for garage, storage or my next trip. Or whatever. Got to be worth a few pennies saved Remember my case got destroyed on my last USA trip.

Got to love free money - what's not to like?
My own luck this past week has been just as good - a Lady at work was complaining that her 80yr old Father was still trying to drive his car despite being very frail. He just refused to admit his driving days were over which I can understand. Anyway, about 3 months ago, he mounted a kerb and hit a post causing 3k worth of front end damage. He go it fixed and last week he hit his gatepost causing a few scratches and his neighbour actually took his keys and parked his car for him. Long story short, lady at work begged me to 'Come and get the damned thing!' If you don't want it, sell it for scrap or whatever. Well, last weekend I picked up his 2006 Fiesta Auto Ghia with just 21k miles on the clock! Bodywork was scratched to hell but everything else was perfect! I stuck it on evilbay and yesterday a nice man from Shepperton drove it home (After leaving £1295 in my hand) RESULT!
Luck doesn't usually fall in my lap so I'm made up.

I love a bit of happy money. Most of us work bloody hard for what we have, so a bit of slack goes a long way. Today I had to go to a locksmith at my local industrial estate and saw a pile of what is probably fly tipped stuff. Also saw this item, and immediately thought of Young George, MercDans son, who has a very cool first car. In typical style he has added some bits, including a skiing theme.

Like busses..... Suddenly it's all happening. Mickey brought a new, unused rug around earlier. Cast out as his mum in law changed her mind after buying it. Going in front of my bed. Perfect, and free.

On the way home just now I saw this on the pavement. Went around the next roundabout and asked if I could have it. Looks like its possibly had some paper burned in it. Pretty much like new. If someone needs and wants it...... Free to collector at ME3 post code area. That is St Mary Hoo, Rochester. PM if interested.

Found outside my local (7 miles from home) station car park yesterday, on the pavement. Not sure if there are meant to be three or four but will use them to make a triangular side table for Katy or one of her kids. Should be an easy thing to make.

Insomnia sucks. But it also delivers. (Time) Mickey from next door heard my early morning racket and came to inspect and took the photo. Quick BBQ side table. Or disposable table for University lodgings. EDIT: Got. to Katy's place and second born child claimed table for Uni. First coat of Danish oil applied. Now off to shops....... Doing "lovely stuff"

Cost me £2.00 in cookies and chocolate after being given it by Mickey next door, so not quite bootfair, but a similar trade. He was going to take it to tip, so I rescued it out the back of his skip trailer. For my garage to replace the dead one in there. Suspect there are too many bits, like the DVD or CD player, just need a radio. Just need to make space in rafters now.

Sort of a tip treasure, but probably doesnt count if i took it there and bought it home again. Really. For years we've had an old projector set up in the family, but since the reels have been put to dvd we 've had no use for it and it had been shoved in the spare room. Tried to sell the projector but had no interest, and the fold down screen broke the last time i tried to shut it, so i took it down the tip yesterday. Chucked the projector in the electrical skip, took the screen out of the car and realised after all this time that there might be a nice wooden box there somewhere. So i put it back in the car and took it home. Wasting no time, in the garage. Basicly, pull the handle and the blind unrolls, or used too. Took all the gubbins out of it, took the vinyl off it, sanded it, polished stuff, treated the leather handle, reassemble with new oldstock brass screws, and i found the nice box I was looking for. Just needs hinges and a clasp. There was a hole in the top of it where the clip went to release the screen, and there was a little plaque on the frame. So I used it to cover up the hole. So there it is, a pretty much useless shape and size, no idea what ill use it for, but I'm glad i saved it, its been in the family since the early 70's.

Did a bit of skip diving today. Got to work, and walked outside to chuck something in the skip. Found this. And removed it from the skip, to shouts of 'here he goes again, bloody stig of the dump' 'thats Mr Womble to you mate' 'you could have gone and bought one of those for a fiver' 'mabie, but it wouldnt be free, or more importantly, rusty' To be fair its quite well made, and 20in high. So I took it home and waxed it with some dark wax. The flash shows the rust up more than you can actualy see it now, it looks quite smart. Mum will be pleased.
